Miley Cyrus's New Sexy Signature Style: Black and White Jumpsuits

So far, 2013 has been a big fashion year for a certain Miley Cyrus. She's been photographed in Chanel, Valentino, and Balmain (pictured from left to right at a Ryan Seacrest event, the Maxim Hot 100 Party, and the Billboard Music Awards) and is well on her way to achieving that one thing every style icon has mastered: a signature look. She's recently skipped over the majority of the color spectrum, instead gravitating toward black and white accented with a third color by way of her red lips. It gets more specific, too: beyond loving the two-toned combo, Miley's showing a serious propensity for pantsuits rather than more common red carpet dresses.

The singer's image has progressively gotten sexier as she's moved past her Hannah Montana stage, and fashion-wise, her cropped 'do seemed to usher in a whole new era of envelope-pushing fashion. Whatever the case, we love that she's turned into a dresser to watch.

Miley Cyrus is on a hot streak, with the Billboard Music Awards as her latest reason to stun in something equal parts sexy and rocker chick. Her black-and-white Balmain jumpsuit featured an intricately woven texture and some serious all-over checkerboard print - which meant she needed only a pair of Givenchy heels and a bold red lip to finish. Perhaps it's the bleached pixie cut, being named No. 1 on Maxim's annual Hot 100 list, a little leftover inspiration from her Met Gala getup, or all of the above - either way, Miley knows how to make a red carpet statement these days. Zoe's latest ensemble - a floral-printed Antonio Berardi suit in a black and white palette - is far less fancy than her red-carpet styles, but just as impressive. Before that, at the Mexico City premiere, Zoe stunned in a white Elie Saab jumpsuit, while Alice took a darker approach in her sheer Gucci LBD. We got a glimpse of Kate Bosworth getting ready for the Met Gala in her sparkly Balmain mini, but when she hit the red carpet tonight, we were no less impressed with the look. The actress flaunted her stems in a punk-appropriate fuchsia minidress, which she finished with a studded belt, Ferragamo pumps and an equally shimmering clutch in hand - though maybe it was the dramatic eyeliner that sealed the deal. Opulent with '80s references - that might be the best way to sum up the cool-girl brand of glamour at Balenciaga's Fall '13 show. It wasn't the first time we've seen references to '80s-girl glitz from Olivier Rousteing, who gave us similar luxe last season in bold shoulders, crop tops, and Beetlejuice stripes. This lineup zeroed in on that same silhouette - oversize shoulders and tiny, tiny waists made even more obvious by wide leather and metallic belts to cinch every look. Proportional play was half the wow factor; the rest was achieved with high-wattage fabrics - metallics, leather, and embellished, quilted pieces in shades of emerald, flashes of gold, purple, and hot pink, a full range of jewel tones. Spots of cozy texture on sweaters and jackets offered a welcome contrast to parachute pants and sharp shoulders - but it takes a confident beauty, like Joan Smalls, to pull off the Dynasty-era drama (big earrings and all!) with modern edge.
