Karl Lagerfeld Captures Muse Baptiste Giabiconi Au Naturel for Two Magazines

>> The Karl Lagerfeld-Baptiste Giabiconi collaborations keep rolling in: In the new Purple Fashion, Karl captured his male Gisele Bundchen in black stiletto heels as the Helmut Newton woman (left) — including one full-on backside shot (NSFW) that has created quite a stir.  Purple founder Olivier Zahm posted a video of the shoot, in which Baptiste poses with a giraffe while Karl switches from snapping him with a professional camera to with a camera phone.Lagerfeld was also asked to guest edit a cover and editorial for the October 2009 issue of Wallpaper.

Lagerfeld was also asked to guest edit a cover and editorial for the October 2009 issue of Wallpaper. For his cover, Lagerfeld photographed a seemingly Dior Homme-clothed Baptiste, but he added a layer of paper to the magazine which can be peeled off to reveal Giabiconi naked. His 27-page editorial inside also focuses on Baptiste — in locales such as the Queen’s Theater in Versailles.

Baptiste Giabiconi, who is peppered all over Lagerfeld's recent editorial and advertising work, Karl likens to “a boy version of Gisele [Bündchen]: skinny, skinny but with an athletic body — good for clothes and great with no clothes.”  Even Naomi Campbell, according to Lagerfeld, was envious when she met Baptiste in Moscow recently — she told him: “It’s not right: We all have defects. In the March 2009 issue of Vogue Paris, it was a Chanel tweed jacket, necklace, and heels; in the July 2009 issue of Vogue Nippon, it was a Chanel couture jacket in one photo and a Chanel couture dress in another; and now, for the upcoming Fall/Winter 2009 issue of Purple Fashion, Baptiste posed for Karl in nothing but a pair of heels.

Reflecting the peek from the shoot we saw earlier this month, the only things the two seasons have in common is the photographer — Karl, of course — and appearances by Baptiste Giabiconi: Jerry was more Lea de Lonval from Cheri, while Lily's tiara and updo give her a touch of Breakfast at Tiffany's Holly Golightly.

With guests on plush sofas, models wove through displaying a predominantly high/low skirt silhouette — because long, according to Lagerfeld, looks old.  For the finale, one of the perfume bottles opened up to reveal Lara Stone as couture bride on Baptiste Giabiconi's arm as groom — Style.com's Derek Blasberg reports of the duo: "They kissed when they went back in the bottle. And started necking when it closed back up!"

In fact, the Chanel theme carries over in Cannes — Jan Kounen’s Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky, starring Anna Mouglalis and Mads Mikkelsen, screens May 24, the closing day.  In between now and then, Carine Roitfeld — as well as Donatella Versace and Kenneth Cole — will make her annual appearance at amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS benefit on May 21 at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, which also features an exhibition by photographer Bruce Weber.
