This Week's Best Dressed

Fashion Month may be officially over, but there's still no rest for the weary style set.

Fashion Month may be officially over, but there's still no rest for the weary style set. This week in New York alone, two major events brought the crowds out, and (because this is the way the fashion gods work) both occurred on the very same night.

The launch of Chloé's 60th anniversary collection at Barneys was celebrated Wednesday with a hopping cocktail affair at the retailer's Madison Avenue flagship. Designer Clare Waight Keller and host Chloë Sevigny greeted guests Atlanta de Cadenet, Hanne Gaby Odiele, and Joseph Altuzarra, while Harley Viera-Newton spun tunes and piles of cotton candy, quirky hair-covered balloons, and a display of archival Chloé pieces provided plenty of pastel-hued ambience.

Meanwhile, at the CFDA's new offices on Bleecker Street, there was an entirely different reason to celebrate: the announcement of the 2013 CFDA Awards nominees and honorees. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (who were honored with the womenswear award last year) were present to toast this year's Swarovski Award nominees Max Osterweis, Erin Beatty, Shane Gabier, Christopher Peters, Carly Cushnie, and Michelle Ochs, while Diane von Furstenberg, Steven Kolb, and Nadja Swarovski congratulated Vera Wang, this year's Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award honoree.

Best Dressed at the 2013 Oscars

The Academy Awards is the most anticipated red carpet of the year, and we've got the best looks of the night, right here.

The Academy Awards is the most anticipated red carpet of the year, and we've got the best looks of the night, right here. Despite the lack of bright hues (seriously, was there a no-color memo?) worn by attendees, there was still plenty to dazzle. Jennifer Lawrence and Charlize Theron both knocked it out of the park in Christian Dior Couture; Theron chose a streamlined, architectural column gown in bright white, while nominee Lawrence went for a frothy, petal pink ballgown from the recent Spring 2013 collection. Nominee Jessica Chastain wowed in a beaded champagne-hued custom Armani gown — the very embodiment of old Hollywood glamour. "It's a very 'Happy Birthday Mr. President' kind of dress," the actress agreed.

Is there anything better than a front row full of fashion's biggest fans?
Celebrities at London & Milan Fashion Weeks Fall 2013

Is there anything better than a front row full of fashion's biggest fans? Maybe. But that doesn't mean a style-studded front row doesn't get our hearts racing. From London to Milan, this week's shows were packed to the brim with chic attendees, and not only did they bring their fashion A-games, but they also appeared to be having a grand old time doing it. After all, if P'trique is at Fashion Week, it can't not be fun, right?

Between the Academy Awards nominee events in Los Angeles, BAFTA parties in London, the amfAR gala in New York, and a frenzy of Fashion Week kickoff events, there were certainly plenty of opportunities for the style set to shine this week. And, boy, did they.

At the amfAR gala, it was all about supermodels in superdresses. Doutzen Kroes went for pleated pink J. Mendel, while Crystal Renn opted for sculptural Zac Posen. Lily Donaldson, Alana Bunte, and Hilary Rhoda all stunned in black, while Toni Garrn was a vision in Winter white Emilio Pucci.

Over in Los Angeles, Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts were the picture of sweet chic in lace dresses at the Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon; Chastain wore Resort 2013 floral Erdem, while Watts kept it monochrome in all-black Valentino.

A peek at all those looks — plus all the gorgeousness from the Prabal Gurung for Target shopping party, the Marni fragrance launch, and much, much more — here in our weekly best-dressed slideshow.

This Week's Best Dressed

Though the SAG Awards on Sunday brought a bevy of red-carpet stunners, some of the week's best looks were much more dressed down.
Street Style and Red-Carpet Fashion: Week of Jan. 28, 2013

Though the SAG Awards on Sunday brought a bevy of red-carpet stunners, some of the week's best looks were much more dressed down. Lou Doillon, for example, looked every bit the rock star at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. In town to celebrate her debut album, Places, the model-turned-singer wowed at the music festival in a shearling-lined motorcycle coat and wide-brimmed fedora.

At the InStyle Best of British Talent party in London, there were plenty of casual-chic ensembles as well; Sophie Kennedy-Clark turned heads in a very of-the-moment grid-print pants look, while Emma Pawson looked sweet in a bright yellow sweater and floral-patterned skirt combo.

See that, plus all the best looks from the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner's announcement and more, right here, in the slideshow.

SAG Awards: Best Dressed

With a fivesome like the one we're about to introduce, it's clearly a tight race to the best-dressed finish where SAG Awards red-carpet glamour is concerned.

With a fivesome like the one we're about to introduce, it's clearly a tight race to the best-dressed finish where SAG Awards red-carpet glamour is concerned. That's where your fashionable opinion comes into play. We'll give you the styling rundown and you do the (voting) rest. Jennifer Lawrence continued her award-season reign in yet another Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, this time in a dark navy blue, and polished it all off with a gorgeous Chopard diamond necklace. Naomi Watts stunned in an icy gray silver-beaded and embroidered Marchesa confection, which proved both ornate and elegant. Jessica Chastain reminded us of another Jessica — Jessica Rabbit, that is — in her body-hugging, corset-bodiced Alexander McQueen number. The only things more jaw-dropping than the dress were her megawatt Harry Winston jewels. Kerry Washington struck a sleek, albeit edgier, note in a strapless embellished Rodarte gown, only to finish it off with Fred Leighton '50s-inspired earrings. And Amanda Seyfried (another beauty in navy blue) went for all-out glamour in a mermaid Zac Posen gown, tempering the standout look with a Lorraine Schwartz pendant necklace. There you have it: five stylish contenders and one best-dressed title. Who gets your vote?

The Chicest Looks From the SAG Awards Red Carpet

At Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard continued their recent streak of wearing Christian Dior on the red carpet — and each actress looked just as dazzling as ever.
SAG Awards 2013: Best Dressed on the Red Carpet (Pictures)

At Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, Jennifer Lawrence and Marion Cotillard continued their recent streak of wearing Christian Dior on the red carpet — and each actress looked just as dazzling as ever. Under normal circumstances, that would come as no surprise, but the fact that both were feeling under the weather made it all the more impressive. Lawrence, who said she was recovering from walking pneumonia, stunned in a navy-blue strapless gown from Dior's recently shown Spring 2013 Couture collection, while Cotillard looked utterly chic in a custom blue and white bilevel gown and an asymmetrical coif to match.

Of course, there were plenty of other gorgeous looks as well. The ladies of Mad Men made an impact in a range of styles, and each seemed to match her respective persona perfectly; Kiernan Shipka was charming in in a blush-colored Oscar de la Renta dress and silver ankle-strap peep-toes, Jessica Paré channeled Old Hollywood mystique in emerald-hued Jason Wu, and January Jones exuded drama in a high-collared Prabal Gurung gown.

But perhaps the most enchanting look of the evening was Amanda Seyfried's: in a body-hugging cobalt mermaid gown from Zac Posen's Pre-Fall 2013 collection, the actress nearly stole the show.

This Week's Best Dressed: Couture Edition

Not your average Fashion Week crowd.
Street Style and Celebrities at Couture Week & Sundance 2013

Not your average Fashion Week crowd. Those who attend the twice-yearly Couture shows in Paris give added meaning to the idea of haute, and the guests at this week's shows were absolutely no exception.

From Daphne Guinness in her signature bespoke finery to Elena Perminova in a showstopping array of bold florals — not to mention the polished ensembles of visiting Hollywood stars Jessica Alba, Diane Kruger, and Chloë Moretz — there was so much finery on display that the snowy gardens of the Tuileries and imposing steps of the Grand Palais were like mini fashion shows all on their own.

Click through for a recap of all the very best looks from the week in Paris, and, since no best-dressed list would be complete without a little insight into Hollywood's elite, there's also a healthy helping of the chicest looks from Sundance and more. It's all right here, in the slideshow.

Golden Globe Awards

This Week's Best Dressed

With award season in full swing, it's not surprising that the lion's share of this week's best looks came straight from the red carpet.

With award season in full swing, it's not surprising that the lion's share of this week's best looks came straight from the red carpet. What is surprising, however, is the amount of unconventional — and ultimately gorgeous — ensembles that made the cut. On the Golden Globes red carpet alone, there were several surprises: Lucy Liu's major floral-print Carolina Herrera, Sienna Miller's softly '60s Erdem two-piece, and Rachel Weisz's bilevel point d'esprit Louis Vuitton — just to name a few.

But those weren't the only looks that made an impact this week. At the men's shows in London, for example, Anna Dello Russo kept her reputation as reigning street-style queen intact with several sartorial suits — including one very chic Saint Laurent Spring 2013 bow blouse outfit made complete with the addition of a real live greyhound — while Sienna Miller, Barbara Palvin, and Jessica Joffe (left) all brightened the week's many, many parties wearing dresses drenched in different rosy hues.
