This week's best-dressed celebrities gave us a plethora of new styles to be inspired by. Kim Kardashian taught us that the sporty trend can be done in a totally chic way, Miranda Kerr's outfit was all about her snazzy accessories, and Jessica Alba gave us a fresh way to wear our fur vests. Check out more outstanding looks from Rachel Bilson, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Stone, and Kate Moss, then shop similar pieces to revive your Fall wardrobe.
The Victoria's Secret Angels may have been scantilly clad on the runway, but when they turned up at the show's afterparty, they were all dressed to the nines. Izabel Goulart, Jessica Hart, and Erin Heatherton opted for body-con dresses in sequins, prints, or bright hues, while first-time VS catwalkers Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne stuck together in matching monochrome mini dresses. However, perhaps the most adventurous of the night was Behati Prinsloo, whose black Moschino t-shirt dress emblazoned with the phrase "You can dress me up! But you can't take me out!" was a sight to behold — if only for its puritanical hemline length and to-the-wrist sleeves.
But there were plenty of other good looks this week — and it wasn't just those with awe-inducing supermodel proportions who pulled them off. In London, several big events had industry folks moving, shaking, and looking fine: at the 1,000 Most Influential Londoners party, Caroline Issa left no doubt as to why she was selected as one of the 1,000 as she cut the rug in a frothy blue and white Prabal Gurung. Lulu Kennedy, Susie Lau, Josephine De La Baume, Sarah Burton, and Matthew Williamson were among the dapper crew who turned out to represent the city's fashion set at the Style.com dinner, while WGSN's Global Fashion Awards dinner saw the likes of Pixie Lott, Jade Parfitt, and Charlotte Dellal.

This week's best-dressed celebrities taught us a handful of key Fall fashion lessons we'll be implementing pronto. Kourtney Kardashian proved that having a pair of colored leather shorts is essential, Kristen Stewart inspired us to take more risks and to test-drive the black and white color combo, and Miranda Kerr showed off the sexy way to play with proportions. Other style tips came courtesy of Mandy Moore, Ali Larter, Eva Mendes, and Taylor Swift. Step inside to check out this week's top stars, then shop their looks to spice up your Fall wardrobe.
Between Halloween and Hurricane Sandy, it has certainly been one crazy week. But the chic must go on, and so it did. In Los Angeles, LACMA's annual Film + Art Gala brought plenty of gorgeous looks from the fashion set; from Anna Wintour to Amber Valletta, there was no shortage of stunning gowns — and smiles — on display. In London, Henry Holland and Laura Bailey turned up to celebrate Atelier Liberty's launch, and in Berlin, Karolina Kurkova wowed in a champagne-colored Carlos Miele gown at Prix Montblanc. Those plus more of the week's most stunning looks — including Doutzen Kroes and Erin Heatherton in crisp white at the dance4life cocktail party — right here.
We spotted several trendsetting celebs working chic ensembles this week, but there were a handful of starlets who were extra inspiring. Emily Blunt dazzled on the red carpet in an orange crystal-collar Alexander McQueen gown in London, Kim Kardashian worked a white-hot Miami look complete with snakeskin Christian Louboutin pumps, and Rihanna showcased a superior streamlined silhouette in Dolce & Gabbana and Alaia in West Hollywood. But that's not all; Mandy Moore taught us that colored denim isn't restricted to Summer, while Gwen Stefani debuted the coolest travel style we've ever seen. Get a closer look at this week's star-studded celebrity styles and find out why we were wowed by their spotlight-worthy ensembles.
With both the British Fashion Council and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund hosting events in Los Angeles, California certainly had more than its fair share of this week's chic. But there were plenty of other fashionable moments elsewhere as well: Matthew Williamson's 15th anniversary party in London, the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M launch in New York, and Chanel's Little Black Jacket opening in Sydney. See who turned up to which event — and what they wore — right here, in our weekly best-of recap.
Who says New York gets to have all the chic? While a healthy share of this week's best looks were photographed in the city that never sleeps, there was plenty of competition from the stylish sets in Boston, London, and Rome.
Mario Testino's exhibit of photography at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts lured the likes of Erin Wasson, Gisele Bündchen, and Anna Wintour to Massachusetts. Meanwhile, Tim Walker's exhibit of photography drew Cara Delevingne and Erdem Moralioglu into Somerset House. Lauren Remington Platt and Byrdie Bell helped celebrate the opening of a new Max Mara store in Rome.
Stateside, some of the brightest stars in film and television — like Emma Watson and Sarah Jessica Parker, at left — dressed up for the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles. Tinseltown also played host to a party that Rachel Zoe hosted for Jockey.
In New York, Bergdorf Goodman celebrated 111 years of being one of the city's landmarks with a party attended by industry stars like Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu, Lynn Yaeger, Linda Fargo, and Joseph Altuzarra. Michael Kors also hosted a party benefiting God's Love We Deliver. All the high-profile parties and charitable events in New York inspired some truly great looks — but so did an intimate dinner hosted by Roberto Cavalli.
This week, our favorite celebrities donned everything from geometric prints to plaid blazers to varsity jackets to pops of red. And they inspired us to follow suit. We particularly loved Victoria Beckham's printed Prada skirt, Kim Kardashian's all-white Miami look, and Olivia Palermo's Fall-perfect plaid Tibi blazer. Fashion Month may be over, but that doesn't mean there's any rest for the style set. In fact, the week was so filled with parties that it led some to comment that their calendars were just as jam-packed now as they had been a few weeks ago in Milan.
In New York alone, there were multiple events that kept the crowd hopping up and down and all around town — and with each came ample opportunity for chicness. At Maje's Fall 2012 campaign party, host and campaign star Alexa Chung looked vibrant as she held court in a ruffled red top; DJ Alix Brown's electric blue jacket with leather sleeves was equally striking. Earlier that evening at the Vogue: The Editor's Eye book launch at Barneys — hosted by Hamish Bowles and Tonne Goodman — Carolyn Murphy, Erin O'Connor, and Hilary Rhoda were all in attendance, and each looked just as stunning as ever. Joseph Altuzarra and Zac Posen (in a self-customized A.P.C. coat and fedora) were also in present and plenty stylish.
Not to be outdone, Chanel hosted not one, but two mega soirees this week as well. Each party brought a host of heavy hitters: Poppy Delevingne, Kristen McMenamy (left), Elle Fanning, Carine Roitfeld, Stella Tennant . . . and, of course, all were decked out in their black and white Chanel finest.
As Fall is starting to settle in, celebrities around the globe are making the most of their skin-baring styles and layering up in plush furs and warm fabrics. This week, Whitney Port pushed the envelope in blush crushed velvet trousers and lizard strap Alexander Wang pumps at a Tacori party in LA, Kim Kardashian showed some leg in a black leather mini and laser-cut Jimmy Choo sandals in Miami, and Olivia Palermo gave a lesson in layering, working a reversible leather and fur vest and cozy knit sweater, both by Zadig & Voltaire, in NYC. And we can't forget Ashley Madekwe and Taylor Swift, who donned noteworthy looks of their own. Get a closer look at our style standouts, then shop their looks for yourself.
