Shop 11 Cool Bomber Jackets For Fall — All Under $500
We spotted the bomber jacket on the Fall runways at Rodarte, Rebecca Taylor, Burberry Prorsum, and more — proving that the military-inspired staple is not only perfect for bundling up on crisp days, but also manages to look equal parts edgy and sophisticated. We're especially smitten with the styling of a varsity-chic bomber jacket with a slouchy tee and leather leggings, or a dressed-up iteration over a fancy LBD. No matter how you wear one, the bomber jacket is a cool-girl classic. Click through to shop 11 of our favorite bombers, all of which happen to clock in under $500.
Stay Warm — 10 Bomber Jackets For Winter
We're currently smitten with bomber jackets for Winter thanks to this season's obsession with the sporty trend. Designers like Phillip Lim, Givenchy, and Alexander Wang all showed their rendition on the runways in the way of silk-sleeved bombers, varsity jackets, and sleek printed options. Thus, we're on the hunt for our very own this season. Style tip: make sure to temper this sporty, oversize silhouette with sleeker accompaniments like pencil skirts and skinny pants for chic boy-meets-girl appeal. We love how Harper's Bazaar Australia editor Christine Centenera styled her shearling-lined leather bomber with a streamlined skirt and fitted top. Designer Spotlight: Sophie Hulme
Sophie Hulme is a designer that marches to her own drum beat. After graduating from Kingston University in 2007, Sophie wasted no time creating a Fall collection. Inspired by menswear and military pieces, her jackets, coats, bags, and hats are slightly off-trend and unique.
I love how her masculine and minimalist cuts are intertwined with feminine details such as a fabulous twisted bow on the back of a hard-edge parka (left). Look forward to seeing an added jewelry collection to her Spring 2009 collection.

Fall Coat Trends: Bomber Jackets
Welcome to day 3 of our week-long look at coat trends for Fall 2006. (To read yesterday's installment, click here.) Today’s spotlight: bomber jackets. These aviator-inspired coats—characterized by fitted shoulders and banded waists—are a great option for cool but not frigid temperatures. Depending on the style, they can look both extremely casual or hip and polished, and this season, a bomber in plaid is especially cool. Here are my picks for some great bomber jackets at both designer and non-designer prices.
