Battle of the Minidress and Bootie Outfit: Rhoda vs. Sevigny

Mixing a feminine little dress with booties is one of our favorite Spring looks, and last night Hilary Rhoda and Chloe Sevigny wore the look with ease.

Mixing a feminine little dress with booties is one of our favorite Spring looks, and last night Hilary Rhoda and Chloe Sevigny wore the look with ease. Hilary paired a printed chiffon dress with suede booties and shoulder bag at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Last Night, while Chloe paired a white-lace minidress with black booties, her Chanel purse, and a denim jacket for the Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artists dinner. Both girls looked great — but if you were going to a Tribeca Film Festival event, which look would you choose?

Celeb Style: Kate Bosworth

Kate displayed her classic feminine cool while walking in the California sunshine. Her cozy crewneck sweater balances out the floaty denim chambray skirt ($60), and while she chose black shades to protect her peeps, she goes for an altogether lighter feel in her soft booties ($350) and nude bag. Trend Alert: Shop Spring 2011 Neutral-Hued Booties

When Charlize Theron donned a neutral suede bootie with cropped cargos, we decided maybe it's time to stop wearing black shoes all the time. It looked fresh and light, just in time for Spring's warm weather, sheer, gauzy fabrics, and softer palette. These booties will go with everything, but they'll look killer with the season's short, flowy dresses. Check out our editor picks for five perfect neutral booties.

They say if you love something to let it go — if it comes back to you on sale, then it's yours to keep. So, I figured when these pretty pairs of ankle boots resurfaced at a discount, it was fate. These were the season's standouts for me — lace-up details, some with a wedge or a femme peep-toe. They're ideal for keeping things casual and chic in cold weather, and when the sun starts to shine, I'm lacing them up with a floral-printed dress or skirt. Trend Alert: Modern Cowboy Booties

The cowboy boot is a country classic, but the modern cowboy bootie is better suited for the city than the ranch, more punk than prairie.

The cowboy boot is a country classic, but the modern cowboy bootie is better suited for the city than the ranch, more punk than prairie. It's a cool twist on an old favorite; same pointed toe but a sleeker silhouette. Throw on with dresses, trousers, and a slick leather jacket — laid-back, rocker-cool cowgirl in the city.

One Boot, Three Ways to Wear It

With each passing season comes a new trend, a new silhouette, a new way to wear a classic.

With each passing season comes a new trend, a new silhouette, a new way to wear a classic. Case in point: in the past few years we've seen the boot evolve from the bootie to over-the-knee and back again, and now, everything goes. Obviously keeping up isn't easy, or always affordable, but Messeca Seena Boot ($199) offers a Fab solution: one supple leather mid-heeled boot with two zip-away inserts, creating three adjustable boot heights. Go from bootie to calf boot to knee-high boot with just a zip-zip. You can always chop your boot to change up your look, but if you're not out for permanent change, this offers the versatility without commitment. No additional spending required.

Fab Tip For Fall: Chop Those Boots

It's high Summer time, but I'm slowly prepping for Fall.

It's high Summer time, but I'm slowly prepping for Fall. It all started with a pair of midcalf black boots I purchased last year from Nine West. They were great at the time, but flash forward to many months later when I started to have a problem with them. I had initially sought a moto-chic vibe, but these boots were more screaming Wellies, thanks to the pull-up tab detail. I had overlooked that fact, but recently I've been seriously craving a pair of short buckled boots to rough up my flirty Summer frocks. That's when a light bulb went off in my head.

Now pay close attention — sgarrett's teaching us how to wear a Summer bootie. I love a ladylike look, especially when it delivers something a little different. This one delivers major style: belted open cardigan over a LBD, plus some sexy kicks. Pretty, pumped up.

Here's what she has on:

Dress: Ross
Cardigan: Forever 21
Shoes: Nine West
Necklace: Banana Republic

Congrats to sgarrett!

I Want This Wardrobe: Jenny Humphrey

Tonight's Gossip Girl will circle around Dorota's wedding — aw.

Tonight's Gossip Girl will circle around Dorota's wedding — aw. If the Upper East Siders act true to form, expect sideline drama and fancy fashions. We love how little Jenny turned up the volume on her tan dress with black floral lace tights, booties, and stacked diamond bangles. Still dressy enough for a wedding, yet undeniably Jenny.
