But, the long sleeves of the Marchesa jacket, as well as that big whimsical bow, keep her from being too risque. Black shorts show off her long stems and white pumps bring the look full circle. Say hello to my new sassy babies: these Ralph Lauren Red Bow Sandals ($75, originally $255). I wasn't lying when I told you I was feeling whimsical. They're such lookers, I couldn't not share the wealth. I figure, with the holidays on the horizon, they would be the perfect bold accessory. The heel is high — 3.9 inches! — but for that reasonable price and darling look, I'll suck it up. If you're color shy, they also come in black, but I highly encourage the red.

Whimsical, playful, comical, eccentric — all ways to describe giving into fanciful notions. Polka dots, bows, sequins, animals, and ruffles are all ways to amuse yourself. I have been in a whimsical fashion mood lately — perhaps Louis Vuitton's bunny ears, coupled with Mary-Kate and Ashley's lace ears, spawned it. And it's so much fun! I encourage all you fashion fans to dabble from time to time. Just one disclaimer: limit your whimsical item to one or two at a time, unless you to want to scream fashion freak.
Mad Men star January Jones attended a cocktail reception thrown by AMC in Pasadena last night. The actress definitely takes risks on the red carpet, but I don't think I've ever seen her rock a sheer LBD. The strategically placed bows can either be perceived as cute or distracting. She's not wearing any other accessories besides her metallic sandals. What do you think of this look — adorable or annoying? Oh, and if you dig her chic cocktail makeup, get the look.
Who'd ever think to mix bows and dots? turquoisepassion did and she looks amazing. I like how she balanced out her bright dots with a sleek blazer but she really took it to the next level with the exaggerated bow detail in the front. Way to think outside the closet!

I love bows, I love gladiator sandals, but do I love them together? I'm not so sure. This Marc Jacobs Bow Glitter Sandal ($535, originally 897) is certainly cute to look at, but is it too cutesy to wear? I'm torn — help me decide.

Where have all the bows gone? For a while, it was all studs and leather, so it's nice to see the sweet thang is still around. What better way to evoke femininity than with bow belts? Emmy Rossum, on the streets of LA, manages to look not overly saccharine with her silver bow belt, Dita von Teese H&M charity tee, and light wash jeans. Sweet with a touch of spice.
