We're ecstatic that we're finally able to wear all of our pretty Spring things this month! That being said, our April shopping list includes an array of refreshing floral prints, chic totes, and statement accessories to finish off our warm-weather ensembles. We're also updating our shoe arsenal with a few new essentials — like striped espadrilles and leg-lengthening sandals — and plan on ditching our heavy jackets for lighter, brighter fare. What better way to show off Boy. by Band of Outsiders' prairie-inspired Fall collection than with Amy Adams playing an irreverent cowgirl? Following in the footsteps of the label's other campaign darlings, like Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst, Adams channels Outsiders' quirky-cool for the Fall Polaroid shots, shooting off toy guns, playing gymnast, and drinking from a flask, all, of course, while showing off the pretty, Western-inspired prairie dresses and menswear-style suiting. It's not the Amy Adams we remember from Enchanted, but we kind of love the way she can improvise with a jungle gym and a herd of buffalo. Inspired by the Japanese film Battle Royale, Scott Sternberg's Boy. by Band of Outsiders Spring '13 lineup was decidedly militant — models even bared war paint on their faces — with a beachy twist. There were a lot of smart, army-green, epaulet-embellished blazers paired with macramé tops, breezy maxi skirts and loose, ankle-tie trousers emoting an effortlessly cool look. However, it was Sternberg's use of Shibori prints that really captivated the audience. Dipping in blue hues, the designer utilized the Japanese dyeing technique to create a refreshing array of tailored blazers, shorts, and sharp wrap skirts, some of which took on a cool, denim-like effect. While others, like an indigo-blue Shibori-printed drawstring-shorts-and-top combo, practically glistened as it made its way down the runway.
