The CMT Awards rocked the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday night with hosts Kristen Bell and Jason Aldean kicking off the show. After making their way down the red carpet, stars took their spots in the audience and on stage. Miranda Lambert belted out "Mama's Broken Heart," while Lenny Kravitz teamed up with Jason Aldean at the mic. The evening's winners included Miranda for CMT performance of the year and female video of the year, Carrie Underwood for video of the year, and Blake Shelton for male video of the year. Carrie snapped a selfie in the crowd with her husband when she wasn't busy mingling with country pals like Kimberly Perry and Miranda. Nicole Kidman and performer Keith Urban shared seats with Sheryl Crow and Taylor Swift, who brought her brother, Austin, along for the fun and was one of the evening's performers. While most took to the red carpet in cocktail dresses and minis, Carrie ditched the dress in favor of this Georges Chakra sheer-inset and beaded shorts and top set. As for the details, she coordinated with a white embellished clutch, peep-toe pumps, David Yurman jewels, and country-glamazon waves. Sure, it still shows off Carrie's toned and tan stems, but it's definitely a departure for the singer. It was Kristen's first public appearance since giving birth to daughter Lincoln in March, and she made sure to show off her postbaby figure in a short leather dress and sky-high heels. Kristen returned to host the show for the second time with country singer Jason Aldean.

Also on the red carpet for tonight's big show were Taylor Swift, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood, who posed sweetly with her hockey-player husband, Mike Fisher. Carrie hit the stage to perform a tribute to the Oklahoma tornado victims accompanied by a full choir, as well as photos of the aftermath from the devastating storm that hit her home state late last month. Sheryl Crow, Kimberly Perry, Lisa Marie Presley, and AnnaSophia Robb also made appearances on the carpet before taking their places inside.
