The CMT Awards rocked the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday night with hosts Kristen Bell and Jason Aldean kicking off the show. After making their way down the red carpet, stars took their spots in the audience and on stage. Miranda Lambert belted out "Mama's Broken Heart," while Lenny Kravitz teamed up with Jason Aldean at the mic. The evening's winners included Miranda for CMT performance of the year and female video of the year, Carrie Underwood for video of the year, and Blake Shelton for male video of the year. Carrie snapped a selfie in the crowd with her husband when she wasn't busy mingling with country pals like Kimberly Perry and Miranda. Nicole Kidman and performer Keith Urban shared seats with Sheryl Crow and Taylor Swift, who brought her brother, Austin, along for the fun and was one of the evening's performers. Keith and Nicole Get Friendly With Lenny Kravitz at the CMT Awards
Nicole Kidman stepped out in Dior to support her husband, Keith Urban, at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville, TN, last night. Keith performed during the show, while Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Nelly, and Lenny Kravitz also took the stage. Lenny stopped to chat with Keith and Nicole on his way into the Bridgestone Arena, and it looked like a friendly meeting for Lenny and Keith, who have more in common that just their musical roots, since Lenny dated Nicole in 2003 after her 2001 split from Tom Cruise. Make sure to check out all the stars at the CMT Awards and take a look inside the show, where Nicole and Keith shared front row seats with Sheryl Crow and Taylor Swift!
Blondes Were on Parade at the CMT Awards
Every year the CMT Awards bring out the best and brightest in country music, which also means all the industry's top blondes are present. Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Nicole Kidman were all spotted on the red carpet last night. While we usually expect over-the-top styles (you know what they say: "the bigger the hair, the closer to heaven"), this year the looks were surprisingly more subdued. See the best styles that will inspire you to go a few shades lighter this Summer when you click through.
Who Wore What: CMT Music Awards
Although the sky's the limit in country music fashion — a world that bred Dolly Parton and gospel like, "The higher the heel, the closer to God" — the red carpet at last night's CMT Music Awards felt relatively tame (with a few exceptions). Country wife Nicole Kidman showed off a demure Dior dress, accented with sculpted heels, while the industry's reigning queen, Carrie Underwood, skipped a gown in favor of a teal, sparkled shorts suit. Carrie Underwood Does the Shorts Suit, Country-Glam Style at the CMT Awards
She's not the first to rock the trend, but Carrie Underwood's shorts suit turned heads at last night's CMT Awards with its glamorous details and bright turquoise hue. While most took to the red carpet in cocktail dresses and minis, Carrie ditched the dress in favor of this Georges Chakra sheer-inset and beaded shorts and top set. As for the details, she coordinated with a white embellished clutch, peep-toe pumps, David Yurman jewels, and country-glamazon waves. Sure, it still shows off Carrie's toned and tan stems, but it's definitely a departure for the singer. Now we want to know what you think — do you love the bedazzled shorts suit or do you wish Carrie had gone with something else?

See All the Stars at the CMT Awards!
Kristen Bell hit the red carpet alongside fiancé Dax Shepard for the CMT Awards in Nashville, TN, on Wednesday night. It was Kristen's first public appearance since giving birth to daughter Lincoln in March, and she made sure to show off her postbaby figure in a short leather dress and sky-high heels. Kristen returned to host the show for the second time with country singer Jason Aldean.
Also on the red carpet for tonight's big show were Taylor Swift, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood, who posed sweetly with her hockey-player husband, Mike Fisher. Carrie hit the stage to perform a tribute to the Oklahoma tornado victims accompanied by a full choir, as well as photos of the aftermath from the devastating storm that hit her home state late last month. Sheryl Crow, Kimberly Perry, Lisa Marie Presley, and AnnaSophia Robb also made appearances on the carpet before taking their places inside.

Carrie is also one of the evening's nominees, since "Blown Away" is up for video of the year and "Two Black Cadillacs" is nominated in the female video of the year category. Kristen Bell Rocks Leather For Her First Postbaby Red Carpet Appearance
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard posed for photos on their way into Nashville's Bridgestone Arena for the CMT Music Awards this evening. It's a big night for Kristen, since she's hosting the show for the second time and making her first official appearance since giving birth to daughter Lincoln on March 28. Kristen will be joined on stage by country star Jason Aldean, and the duo got together earlier today for rehearsals. She's been sharing behind-the-snaps of their preparation on Twitter and also joked about wearing "treacherous heels" since she'll be standing next to Jason, who is over six feet tall. For the red carpet, though, Kristen chose a more sensible pair of heels and a sexy leather dress, while Dax dressed up in a neutral-colored suit.
Taylor Swift Shows a Little Leg on the CMT Awards Red Carpet
Taylor Swift posed solo in an uneven-hem dress by Elie Saab despite bringing her brother, Austin, along for the CMT Music Awards in Nashville this evening. She's one of the night's nominees and is up for two awards, including video of the year and female video of the year for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Being Again," respectively. Taylor will be going up against Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert in both categories. Taylor made her way south from LA, where she made a surprise appearance on The Voice Monday.
