Kim Kardashian headed to lunch in Miami showing off new fashion-forward pants: these Helmut Lang black and white drawstring trousers ($264, originally $378). Up top she wore a black tee and a black shawl-collar blazer, and on bottom her trusty caged Givenchy sandals. Rounding out her black-and-white style were black flat-top Céline sunglasses and diamond stud earrings. Score Kim's exact trousers now to wear with a button-down and pumps at work, then with a tank and leather jacket for a night out.
Blake Lively showed off her gorgeous gams in a red leather Isabel Marant mini and caged Christian Louboutin booties at the 12/12/12 benefit concert in NYC. A slew of celebrities have been spotted rocking leather pants, dresses, and jackets, but what we really love about Blake's fierce mini is the intricate stud detailing. Inject a little edge into your holiday style with a red leather dress, studded collar necklace, and nude caged ankle boots or test-drive this studded black leather French Connection sheath ($548) with black patent pumps for a goth-meets-glam take on Blake's red-hot look.
Jessica Alba looked chic in her black-on-black layers in Santa Monica, but what really caught our eye was her new black and white colorblock bag. Jessica's oversize two-tone leather Chloé tote ($1,995) really popped against her black high-low dress, black leggings, and black Surface to Air caged sandals. The actress finished off her low-key look with celeb-approved Westward Leaning shades ($275), a simple pendant necklace, and a few bracelets. Re-create this monochromatic outfit with a few closet staples — black high-low dress, black leggings, and caged sandals — then reach for a black and white colorblock tote to really nail her downtown-cool style.
On her way into the Roberto Cavalli show at Milan Fashion Week, Solange Knowles once again nailed the mixed-print trend by donning a blue-and-white print dress with a contrast-lapel print blazer, both by Cavalli. This ensemble was eye-catching but pretty tame for Solange, as just last week we spotted the trendsetter working an even bolder mix at New York Fashion Week. The fashion maven completed her busy ensemble with black caged Christian Louboutin sandals and a bevy of gold accessories — a leaf bracelet, cutout cuffs, bangles, and a pyramid ring. Take a cue from Solange and pair a printed sheath with a printed blazer and caged sandals for a super fashionable look.
Jessica Alba's stylist Brad Goreski calls her the layering queen, so it's no surprise that she mastered the art even while spending time with her kids in LA. The actress started with a mint-colored high-low sleeveless Rails blouse ($108), topped with a black leather motorcycle vest, and leather-paneled leggings by Kymerah ($130). She then threw on fabulous accessories to finish strong: caged wedge sandals by Surface to Air, a two-tone gray Tod's bag, a gold bar necklace, a silver cuff, and a couple of beaded bracelets. Layering is tough to achieve, but next time you want to take a stab at it, look to Jessica's latest ensemble. Remember to play with proportions, colors, and textures for a unique take.
Blake Lively looks flawless in floor-length gowns, but when the actress stepped out in NYC working a fiery Michael Kors blazer ($1,595) with matching cropped pants ($695) and caged Christian Louboutin sandals ($1,695), she managed to top herself. She accessorized her bright-red suit and edgy heels with onyx hoop earrings and a loose updo. Channel Blake's sleek style on a budget with this red Pendleton blazer ($228) and red Rag & Bone trousers ($290) at the office, then add a statement necklace for happy hour.
Sometimes, all you need are no-fuss jeans and a white button-down shirt to look super stylish. Case in point: Cameron Diaz at AFI's Night At The Movies event in LA. Even in denim, the actress shined. Of course, you can't walk the red carpet looking too casual, to help remedy that, Cam threw on red caged sandals, a bronze Gucci clutch, gold hoop earrings, and red lipstick. What a divine combination of menswear and womenswear. Try it sometime.
Many of you loved the shoes I wore to a recent wedding so I had to share the details. They are the very reason I grew to love the silk ruffle-neck dress I ordered a while ago. I had tried the dress on with countless other shoes but nothing was making sense. As soon as I tried it with these Jeffrey Campbell Marly Black Patent Leather Platforms ($110), something clicked; they breathed life to my dress, sort of like how Gwyneth Paltrow's powerful shoes complemented her awesome Iron Man premiere dresses. Plus, they were amazing to me all night. Nary a scratch or blister, nada. If I had more thumbs, I'd give them five thumbs up.
Here's what she has on:
- Dress: Mango
- Vest: Mango
- Lace Top: Mango
- Heels: Zara
- Necklace: Swarovski

It's time to set your gladiators aside and welcome a new member into the family. Unlike the chunky style of the aforementioned, caged sandals are all about sexy. Case in point Fergie. She's emitting major femme fatale in a lustful pair of Jimmy Choos. These S&M-like delights toughen up dresses or pair them with some skinny jeans to channel the hipster in you.
