Calvin Klein Reveals Rooney Mara as the Face of Its New Fragrance at Cannes
Today, Calvin Klein officially unveiled Rooney Mara as the face of its newest fragrance, Downtown — but the brand got an early start celebrating the news last night. Despite the rain, stars including Rooney, Carey Mulligan, Nicole Kidman, and Skyfall's Naomie Harris stopped by Calvin Klein's beachside bash at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday evening.
Rooney marked the new partnership alongside Francisco Costa, the creative director of Calvin Klein Collection, at the party, which was also hosted by Belvedere and IWC. Inside the dimly lit and intimate soiree, she chatted with producer Harvey Weinstein, while Carey mingled by the DJ booth before making an early departure. Nicole also made time in her Cannes schedule to attend. All three actresses are busy working this week. Carey's The Great Gatsby premiered on opening night; Rooney's latest film, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, will also debut later this week; and Nicole is serving as a member of the film festival's official jury.
Calvin Klein Takes Rooney Mara Downtown For a New Fragrance Campaign

Rooney Mara has been tapped by fragrance giant Calvin Klein as the face of the brand's latest fragrance: Downtown. The announcement came last night during Calvin Klein's Cannes party. "I am very excited to be included in the group of amazing women that have been featured in the iconic advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein fragrances," Rooney told WWD. "The Downtown fragrance holds true to the chic, confident, and simple feeling of the Calvin brand." And with notes of bergamot, violet leaf, incense, and velvet musk, as well as Downton's bright fuchsia bottle, Rooney's statement couldn't be more true.
Rooney's stint as Calvin Klein's Downtown chick includes TV spots directed by David Fincher, print ads shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino, and a huge social media push. "We want to create a dialogue with consumers," Marc Rey, president of Coty Prestige US, said. Rooney's character for the campaign is a young woman who plays by her own rules. The fragrance is set to drop in select global markets in July, with US consumers getting their first glimpse in September.
Christy Turlington Burns Returns as Face of Calvin Klein Underwear
Christy Turlington Burns will return to Calvin Klein as the face of the brand's Fall 2013 Underwear ad campaign, WWD reports. The campaign was shot in Vieques, Puerto Rico, by photographer Mario Sorrenti and was inspired by the label's "signature and provocative imagery."
Turlington Burns's long-standing relationship with Calvin Klein stems all the way back to her first runway show for its Fall 1987 season. Since then, she has starred in Calvin Klein's Collection, Underwear, Jeans, and Swimwear ads, as well as its Eternity and Contradiction fragrance ads. Needless to say, Turlington Burns is among a select group of models who have earned Calvin Klein veteran status, with Kate Moss, Lara Stone, and Natalia Vodianova also making the cut. And with the upcoming Fall ads set to debut in the September magazine issues, she continues her reign. Before the real thing hits, take a look at some of her past Calvin Klein Underwear campaigns, here in the gallery.

Zoe Saldana Embraces Print For the Latest Stop on Star Trek's Promo-Tour
As the Star Trek Into Darkness promo tour unfolds, we're privy to double the leading-lady glamour, all thanks to Zoe Saldana and Alice Eve. Zoe's latest ensemble — a floral-printed Antonio Berardi suit in a black and white palette — is far less fancy than her red-carpet styles, but just as impressive. Before that, at the Mexico City premiere, Zoe stunned in a white Elie Saab jumpsuit, while Alice took a darker approach in her sheer Gucci LBD. Before that, both starlets stunned all over Europe in a mix of Vionnet, Calvin Klein, Balmain, Reem Acra, and Emilio Pucci. To stay caught up on it all, keep clicking.

Met Gala: Best Dressed

The 2013 Met Gala best-dressed set could easily be likened to the fashion Olympics, and this year's Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition turnout made it harder than ever to pick only five gold-medal contenders. Beyoncé Knowles spared no head-turning detail in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture flame-embroidered gown; Gwyneth Paltrow stood out in a covered-up hot pink Valentino number; Rooney Mara played the edgy card in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown, complete with floral embroidery, zippers, ruffles, and a split-front opening; Jennifer Lawrence chose ladylike Dior (and that Jennifer Behr netted veil!); and Katie Holmes stunned in a downright ethereal custom Calvin Klein creation. It's a close one, but it's time for you to declare a best-dressed winner of the night.

Met Gala: Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes stepped out for the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a custom Calvin Klein creation. The brunette beauty kept her hair slicked back, her eye makeup dark and smoky, and as for the dress? Holmes said she couldn't say "no" to this Francisco Costa-designed gown because it was just "so beautiful." From the dramatic sweeping train to the illusion-like bodice to the circular halter-style detail, it's certainly worth a second (and third) glance. What's your verdict?

Katie Holmes Goes Backless at the Met Gala
Katie Holmes was stunning in a backless white Calvin Klein Collection gown at the Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC tonight. She was one of the first to arrive and stopped on the grand staircase on her way into the museum to pose with designer and Calvin Klein creative director Francisco Costa. Katie's no stranger to the annual fashion event, having attended in years past with husband Tom Cruise. There are so many more stars to see on the carpet this evening, so make sure to check out all the fashion and beauty favorites!
Zoe Saldana Bares Her Abs in a Crop Top and Goes Bold in Hot Pink!
Zoe Saldana earned some major style points over in Germany promoting her new movie, Star Trek Intro Darkness. By day, she went monochromatic in a gray top and skirt that revealed a flash of skin. By night, she opted for an ultraluxe ensemble with bold color and texture. We can't wait to see lots more from Zoe on the movie's promo tour! On Allison: Zara blazer, H&M top, Zara pants.
