Sleek ponytails have popped up at shows like Derek Lam, but they were thrown for a loop at Carolina Herrera. To create what he called a "smooth, shiny and frizz-free texture," stylist Orlando Pita for Orlo Salon began by applying Moroccanoil Light to hair, then following up with Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream before blow-drying hair straight. After parting hair in the middle, Pita pulled it into a low ponytail, securing it with an elastic. To create the appearance of thicker hair, he teased the length of the ponytail before tucking it into the elastic. After wrapping a section of hair around the elastic, he finished the look with hairpins and hair spray. Simple, chic, and — best of all — not too hard to re-create at home.

Carolina Herrera provided springtime ease for the ladylike set with her Spring 2012 runway show. While her daytime separates were perfectly lovely, our eyes were focused on her evening wear. There was a deco motif to her gowns via geometric prints and beading, and a lovely emerald hue that we expect to see on the red carpet soon enough.
