This Just In: Carolyn Murphy Sells LA Home

According to Big Time, supermodel Carolyn Murphy has sold her four bedroom, three bath Brentwood, Los Angeles, home for $3.6 million. The 3,386-square-foot home at 330 S. Medio Drive was originally listed for $3,650,000 and sits on a 0.23-acre plot of land. The listing calls it a "meticulously restored 1920s Spanish" home, completed with "sensitivity to the original architecture." It features a chef's kitchen, a family room with vaulted beamed ceiling, patios, a large private yard, a sun-filled master bedroom with a beautiful bathroom, two walk-in closets, an office/artist studio, hardwood floors, original tiles, iron work, and a walled courtyard.

While I do find this home to be a bit stiff, architecturally, it's a gem, and it is tasteful despite not looking very hip. I particularly love the large circular window/doors seen from the exterior house, and who would complain about her larger-than-life kitchen? I should also note that she is quite au courant with her trendy suzani bedspread and antler chandelier.

Real Estalker notes that while Murphy's "bohemian chic contemporary house" was featured this Summer in the now extinct House & Garden, it's not the same home that has sold. She has moved since that issue of H&G, and rumor has it she will now move to a 3,321-square-foot house in Ojai, California.

Fab Ad: Seven For All Mankind Fall/Winter 2007

Carolyn Murphy gets the honor of being chosen for Seven's first ever print ad campaign!

Carolyn Murphy gets the honor of being chosen for Seven's first ever print ad campaign! She was shot by Patrick Demarchelier (every time I hear that name I think of Meryl Streep saying it in The Devil Wears Prada) in the brand's denim, footwear, and handbags at the penthouse at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel and at Los Angeles' Stahl House.

I love the crisp look of the ads, very to-the-point so you can focus on what Carolyn is actually wearing. And I love how they made her tower over the LA skyline! What do you all think?

Oscars Hair Trend: Blondes On The Side

Let's see how many trends we can spot in this collage.

Let's see how many trends we can spot in this collage. I spy red lips, blonde hair, blue eyes, thin, tall, lean bodies, long, straight hair and hair pulled to one side. Now if only Nicole Kidman had an Estee Lauder campaign I could have an even seven.

I was guilty of pulling my hair to one side like this when I was twelve years old. It made me feel older, sexier and it also made me look a little like a loser since my head was always tilted sideways. Yet these tall and gorgeous blonde glamazons pull this look off effortlessly - go figure.

Model, Carolyn Murphy showed up at the Vanity Fair After Party last night in a bright yellow bauble with red lips and straight hair. Talk about fitting in! If it weren't for her fur stole, she'd be virtually controversy free. I think she looks beautiful, what do you think?

Model of the Week: Carolyn Murphy

Welcome to our third first installment of Model of the Week.

Welcome to our third first installment of Model of the Week. I've written a five question interview that I have conducted with several models to share with you. The questions are both fun and beauty related and will always stay the same. To see the rest of the Model of the Week posts click here.

Here's a little history about the classically stunning Carolyn Murphy. She was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on August 11th, 1975. She grew up in and about Northwest Florida in a trailer park in Panama City, Florida. She was spotted and discovered at the age of 16 by the owner of Mary Lou's Models Modeling agency and began modeling right away.

Carolyn moved to Milan to model after high school. It was there where she gained her popularity. She bleached her hair blond for a photo shoot and it began to fall out. Many photographers took notice of her brave, boyishly short haircut and she began getting work in high profile magazines.

You may recognize her from her 2005 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover, as the face of Estee Lauder, from her award as VH1/Vogue's "Model of the Year"in 1988, from her many magazine ads, runway shows or from her screen debut in the movie, Liberty Heights.

Carolyn is also the proud mother of a gorgeous seven year old daughter named Dylan Blue. I am pleased to be featuring this stately blond, blue eyed fashion icon whom I have admired for years.
