>> Spring 2010 brings a number of firsts for Burberry: the first time Christopher Bailey has shown under the label in London instead of Milan and the first time the show was streamed live on the Internet — the video can be seen here.  It was a big bash for the likes of London — a guest list of 1,500 and a tent venue erected on the grounds of the Chelsea College of Art & Design — bringing front row faces like Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate Olsen, brand face Emma Watson, plus Mario Testino, Jacquetta Wheeler, Bruce Weber, and Agyness Deyn.

When the show was ready to start this evening, the venue — with Burberry check-embossed walls — went dark, and the Burberry logo lit up the runway until the stream of models, wearing pale-colored or metallic knotted, draped, and twisted variations on the classic trench and miniskirt, commenced.  A few furs were even thrown in, despite the Spring season. At the end, in celebration of the quintessential British brand's return to home turf, a rain of silver confetti streamed down.

The fashion fun has moved from New York onto London, where Kate Moss led the pack of stars in the front row. She joined Philip Green and his daughter Chloe yesterday afternoon for the Topshop Unique show, which sent a colorful grunge-inspired collection down the runway. The Greens and Kate went on to host a private dinner last night at the Ivy, bringing out fashionable folks from England and beyond — Naomi Campbell mingled with Anna Wintour, Burberry designer Christopher Bailey, Jamie Hince, and Kate's soon-to-be business partner Simon Cowell. FabSugar UK is reporting live, with all the latest news from across the pond.

As New York Fashion Week draws to a close for us at FabSugar US, our friends from across the pond at FabSugar UK are gearing up for London Fashion Week, which starts today and goes until Sept. 22. Sure to be one of the highlights of LFW is the Burberry Prorsum show, which will be held in London instead of Milan, where it is typically held. The British brand is doing this to celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week. Luckily, since we won't be in attendance, the show will be streamed live online for the rest of the world to see.

All you have to do is go to live.burberry.com at 6:30 p.m. BST on Sept. 22 to get front-row access. Plaid not your thing? Then make sure to check out Alexander McQueen's show as he does the same thing during Paris Fashion Week.

>> Christopher Bailey likes to think of himself as a "home bird": he's at ease mulching — "the smell of manure makes me happy" — barbecuing, or watching TV with "soup on my lap," he tells the New Yorker in their September 14 Style Issue.  But he's also the creative director of three-billion-dollar company Burberry.

Bailey is anti-elitist, the New Yorker writes.  He "came from a working-class background in Yorkshire" — his father was a carpenter, his mother dressed windows for Marks & Spencer — and one of his main goals for Burberry is to be "friendly and warm and embracing." He continues: "I think there's an expectation that all fashion companies have to be cold and austere and arrogant, and I just think there are other ways of doing things."

We couldn't be more amazed with Emma Watson's highly anticipated ads for Burberry. Shot at its new headquarters in London, photographer Mario Testino captured the budding stylista looking calm and cool all while wearing Burberry's iconic trench coats and leather handbags. “I wanted the images to represent both the rich history and the modernity of the Burberry brand, while at the same time reflecting a quiet beauty, timelessness and strength that is particularly significant today,” said Christopher Bailey, creative director of Burberry. It's hard to believe Emma's only 19; these ads show a different, more mature side of the actress and I love it. What about you?

In celebration of its new NY headquarters, Burberry lit the cityscape with bright lights and a fashionable soiree filled with bubbly and a guest list PR people would kill for. There were a ton of looks to choose from, but I narrowed it down to five. Lily Donaldson showed off her stems in a white chiffon minidress; Alexa Chung styled her printed sheath with a belt and blazer; Leigh Lezark looked sexy stealth in a ruched eggplant frock and sharp heels; Claire Danes accessorized her gray dress with bold adornments; and Blake Lively looked cunning in a loose blazer and mini. All Burberry, all beautiful. Divulge: which Bailey supporter do you prefer?
