The Gifted Grandparent: Grandpa

The title "Grandpa" often connotes images of an old man with a cane, glasses and worn out hands.
Brooks Brothers at ShopStyle

The title "Grandpa" often connotes images of an old man with a cane, glasses and worn out hands. But if 50 is the new 30, then Gramps should act and dress the part, too.

  • Make sure the man is well groomed with a set of Kiehl's shaving lotions and creams. Your wee one should be begging for kisses from Gramps, not a porcupine.
  • Keep Grandaddy hip with a timeless pair of Chuck Taylors. The grandchildren will think he's the coolest pop on the block.
  • For the dapper Pappy, a cashmere tartan scarf will keep him nice and cozy on the outside while giving him warm fuzzies on the inside.

Look of the Day: Frilly and Funky

I like how poron decided to combine the feminine with the masculine today.

I like how poron decided to combine the feminine with the masculine today. Her frilly and funky ensemble is made up of a black tie blouse complimented by a pair of shiny jeans and sneakers. Succinct and to the point.

Here's what she has on:

  • Top: United Arrows
  • Jeans: Topshop
  • Shoes: Unknown
  • Belt: Unknown

Congrats to poron!

What's the matter with the clothes I'm wearing,Can't you tell that your tie's too wide?

What's the matter with the clothes I'm wearing,Can't you tell that your tie's too wide? Maybe I should buy some old tab collars? Welcome back to the age of jive. Where have you been hidin' out lately, honey? You can't dress trashy till you spend a lot of money. Everybody's talkin' 'bout the new sound Funny, but it's still rock and roll to me. Fab Finding Follow-Up: Sunday Football

Last weekend, my friend threw a Sunday Football bash and I asked you to help me find a cute casual look for the festivities.

Last weekend, my friend threw a Sunday Football bash and I asked you to help me find a cute casual look for the festivities. Sure enough, I indulged in sinful cheesy dips and BBQ wings, but no regrets here. That's what exercising is for, right? I had so much fun, I even stopped by my parents' house and joined my dad in watching the evening game.

I started you off with these Falke Striggings Arm Warmers ($29) because they were sporty and cozy. Let's see what you all came up with!

Look #1, created by maria212134, is all about sporty fun. Those vintage Chucks are dope, and I'll skip the cute cardigan since I have my trusty arm warmers.

Trend Alert: Funky Kicks

Sneakers are pissed at flats.

Sneakers are pissed at flats. They've taken over as our casual shoe pick of the day. Well, they're not going down without a fight! This season, sneakers have been made over with new color, patterns, and textures. Funky kicks are a fun, sporty alternative to wearing flats so why not give them another go-around? I dare you to be bold, not beige!

Trend Alert: Livin' La Vida London

As our sisters at FabSugar UK know quite well, London is worlds apart from America.

As our sisters at FabSugar UK know quite well, London is worlds apart from America. And I'm not just talking about distance. There are some crossovers in fashion, but the main difference in dressing between the UK and US is that the Brits favor a more disheveled, punky look. Vivienne Westwood, of course, spearheaded the entire punk fashion movement back in the day. Those who wish to be livin' la vida London should consider playing with leather, studs, and neon, even if Piccadilly Circus and Kensington High Street don't ring a bell.

Celebrity Style: Gisele Bundchen

It's Gisele's day today.

It's Gisele's day today. First she tops Forbes' list of top-earning models of 2008 and now she graces us with her stylish and slim self. I admit that I've been semibored with her mostly grey, monotonous outfits lately, but her latest cas(ual) airport look makes me happy. It's travel friendly but not yawn-worthy. She could have worn ballet flats to make the look more femme, but the fact that she chose Chuck Taylors is refreshing. Next time I take a trip, you better believe I'm busting out my Converse!
