BellaSugar’s Top Picks For Coral Lipstick

Even if you’re not typically a coral kind of gal, trust me when I say that you’ll love the way they look with a little bit of mascara and some bronzer in the summertime.

Even if you’re not typically a coral kind of gal, trust me when I say that you’ll love the way they look with a little bit of mascara and some bronzer in the summertime. Coral has that je ne sais quoi to make tanned skin look all the more radiant. Below are my favorite coral lipsticks, They are a little deeper than peach lipgloss without being overly orange. Do you prefer one lipstick color over another in certain seasons?

  • Stila Lip Color in Miranda ($17) is a shiny, creamy and super-sheer everyday coral lipstick. Last year, it was so popular that it was honored as one of In Style's Best of Beauty Buys. It's a good choice if you want to ease into the color trend.
  • Chantecaille Lip Chic in Geranium ($30) is a sheer, rich nudey-coral. This creamy formula stays moist for hours and looks great worn alone or with a sheer gloss on top.
  • I've already told you how gorgeous the new, creamy Diane Von Furstenberg Volcano Lipstick ($18) is. This golden, pale coral-peach shade looks killer paired with black mascara and bronzer.
  • Guerlain KissKiss Stick Gloss in Mango Fizz ($30) is a sheer and shiny hydrating lipstick that contains just a little bit of maxi-lip for plumpness without having too much of a tingle.
  • Lancome Le Rouge Absolou in Coral Gossamer ($26) is a creamy textured, medium-coral colored lipstick that contains a touch of shimmer for a pearlized, glowy finish and SPF 15 for sun protection.

Bellissima! Diane Von Furstenberg's Lava-Licious Lipstick

Although Diane Von Furstenberg has discontinued her makeup line (let's all take a moment to mourn the loss of her awesome pink glosses), she can't let her love of makeup fade.

Although Diane Von Furstenberg has discontinued her makeup line (let's all take a moment to mourn the loss of her awesome pink glosses), she can't let her love of makeup fade. So, each season she has decided to release one signature lipstick to complement her collection. Summer's choice will appeal to girls who were born to love volcanoes.

Volcano ($18) is an explosive shade of shimmery, pale coral. The texture is creamy and the color could also be categorized as a peachy-nude that enhances your natural lip. It is intended for all skin tones and looks great with strong brown and flushed cheeks.

The inspiration for her Summer 2008 collection and lipstick came from the lush and bright flowers that landscape the countryside of Bali. Having been there, I can attest to the glorious vibe that has been an inspiration for makeup, clothing and perfume. Are you interested in checking out Volcano for yourself?

Love It or Hate It

Love It or Hate It? Tesoro Coral Teapot

I'm speechless when it comes to this Tesoro Coral Teapot ($600) from Bergdorf Goodman.

I'm speechless when it comes to this Tesoro Coral Teapot ($600) from Bergdorf Goodman. This teapot, which has hand-applied 14-karat gold accents and white-tipped coral covering it, is part of L'Objet, a collection combining "unexpected elements and textures to create luxurious tableware and elegant home decor."

To begin, I would never buy a teapot; I just use regular ole pots to heat up de l'eau. And if I did buy a teapot, I wouldn't spend six hundred smackers on it. But if, for some reason, this Tesoro coral teapot landed in my kitchen cupboard, I still can't imagine serving my tea party attendees jasmine in it. I'm just plain baffled.

Designer Spotlight

Designer Spotlight: Lisa Jones

While Lisa Jones is more of a sculptor than a designer, I couldn't resist showing you her beautiful, imaginative sculptural works.

While Lisa Jones is more of a sculptor than a designer, I couldn't resist showing you her beautiful, imaginative sculptural works. Some of her objects, such as the Symbiosis Chair Series, are beautiful riffs on interior decor, while others, such as the Pipe Series, are brilliantly abstract in their execution. I especially love the coral motifs in the Symbiosis series: Perhaps she's been influenced by the Great Barrier Reef?

Showing primarily in Sydney, where she also earned her Masters of VIsual Arts, in her artist's statement Lisa writes:

Within my sculptural objects a language of internal opposition exists that informs the whole. This apparently conflicting exchange defines the work through the tension between order and chaos; the organic and the refined; repetition and divergence; progress and reversal. The resulting sculptures are not what they appear to be. Seemingly solid forms are in fact rigid, hollow sacks that define the volumes they describe.Their organic forms and the materials of their composition evoke a strong sensory experience of their tactility, provoking a desire to touch.

Trend Alert: Coral Fixation

No longer relegated to scuba-diving and seaside dwellings, coral is coming into its own as a high-end design motif.

No longer relegated to scuba-diving and seaside dwellings, coral is coming into its own as a high-end design motif. It's not often I find myself ooh-ing and ahh-ing over ocean-inspired home design, but lately, I've been drawn to everything from traditional red coral-shaped candlesticks to these ultra-modern Inhabit Coral Pillows ($60 to $68). Whether you live by the sea or buried in a city, these hip coral-adorned pieces are just perfect for Summer. Just click on the photos to view each product below.

Celebrity Style: Cameron Diaz

I'm thinking it must have been hard for JT to get a whiff of Cameron looking so fresh and fabulous at the Shrek 3 premiere.

I'm thinking it must have been hard for JT to get a whiff of Cameron looking so fresh and fabulous at the Shrek 3 premiere. We all have leg envy already, but I'm loving how she whips out a sleek Chanel coral dress with cool contrasting pewter pumps. I'm totally digging her two-tone do...are you? Here's some coral advice: it really only looks good on slightly tan or dark skin so wait until you have a nice base tan to complement this Summer flavor.
