India Hicks Island Beauty at Crabtree & Evelyn

Not all of us are lucky enough to live in the Bahamas, so thankfully, India Hicks is bringing some of her peaceful island existence to us.

Not all of us are lucky enough to live in the Bahamas, so thankfully, India Hicks is bringing some of her peaceful island existence to us. The British former model is serving as the face and the muse of the new Crabtree & Evelyn Naturals line of shower scrubs, soaps, and other bath accoutrements.

In a world overrun with scented bath products, these 19 blends really stand out, with extracts of sugarcane, cardamom, mint, and other exotic ingredients that really do summon images of island living. The eco-friendly line contains no active synthetic or chemical ingredients, and it's beautifully packaged and surprisingly affordable. Plus, when you spend $85 or more on Naturals line, you get a free jar of Body Butter. Hicks, who wrote the book Island Beauty, available here, is also developing her own line of C&E products due out next year, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Hicks's pet causes. Until then, here are some of the delicious picks from the Crabtree & Evelyn line.

Lemongrass and Brown Sugar Body Scrub, $26, available here.

Travel Essential: Soap Leaves

I'm somewhat obsessive about washing my hands, particularly before eating or after riding the subway.

I'm somewhat obsessive about washing my hands, particularly before eating or after riding the subway. But let's face it: Lots of public restrooms are sorely lacking in soap. That's why I always carry a pack of Crabtree & Evelyn Soap Leaves.

Folded inside a credit card-sized envelope, these thin, sweet-smelling petals work just like soap: You simply hold the leaf in your hands under running water, and it turns into a lathery liquid, then disintegrates as you rub your palms together. Now I never have to worry about being without soap, and this product makes my hands feel much cleaner than when I use those no-wash antibacterial gels. Plus, with the recent liquid ban on planes, you're better off carrying these lightweight soap leaves when you travel than a bottle of gel. You can buy a pack of 20 leaves here for $4; available in lavender and rosewater scents.
