>> In the latest round of Spring 2011 ad campaigns to pop up, Crystal Renn nabbed a starring role in Jimmy Choo's colorful, colorblocked set shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin; Baptiste Giabiconi sprays Freja Beha Erichsen and Stella Tennant in their Chanel suits with a water hose; and Ellen von Unwerth, who first found fame photographing Claudia Schiffer for Guess, is back for another round with the brand.
Even More Spring 2011 Ads Have Turned Up — A Look at Dior, Prada, Armani, Bottega Veneta, and More
>> The deluge continues; after yesterday's introduction to the Spring 2011 Chanel, Tom Ford, and Marc by Marc Jacobs campaigns, today brings another onslaught — Karlie Kloss's third straight campaign as face of Christian Dior; a first look at Kasia Struss for Miu Miu (Sasha Pivovarova and Querelle Jansen are also said to have been cast by the label); and perhaps our favorite campaign of the season so far, Alex Prager's take on Karolina Kurkova for Bottega Veneta, left.
Arizona Muse Fronts YSL's Latest Ad Campaign
Upstart model Arizona Muse has replaced Daria Werbowy as the face of YSL for Spring. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin shot the brunette beauty in the gardens of a Moroccan villa, a location that has inspired many of Yves St. Laurent's designs and is the subject of a forthcoming book on YSL's Marrakech influences. 20 Amazing Covers From Vogue Paris
When Carine Roitfeld took the helm of Vogue Paris in 2001, she transformed the magazine into a chic, risk-taking publication. Today's news of her resignation surprised many people, including those who admired her unusual and unique style. We've put together 20 of the best covers from her reign at the magazine. Some are sexy, some are soft, but all have that Roitfeld touch we've come to love.
A Brief, Romantic Encounter With Daria Werbowy in This Month's Vogue
We love a double-threat — brains and beauty like the gorgeous Daria Werbowy playing savvy reporter for Peter Lindbergh's lens. Under the style direction of Grace Coddington, and playing dress up in Prada, Marc Jacobs, and Versace, Daria channels femininity, strength, and ultimately, a little romance for this month's Vogue. We can't help but get swept away with the vintage-inspired style and the desert landscapes.
Daria Werbowy — Reportedly the Victoria's Secret Angel Who Almost Was
>> Daria Werbowy has never appeared in a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show lineup, but it's not because Victoria's Secret didn't want her. According to The Imagist, back before Werbowy signed her Lancome contract in April 2005, Lancome and Victoria's Secret were in a bidding war over her: "It was down to the wire till the last moment. Two power clients bidding at the same time for the exclusive services of [Werbowy]. And then the negotiations swung the way of Lancome, and the rest is contract history." [The Imagist]
Preview Karl Lagerfeld's Pirelli 2011 Calendar with Erin Wasson, Baptiste Giabiconi, and More (NSFW)
>> For the 2011 Pirelli calendar, which launched in Moscow today, Karl Lagerfeld said that he produced “the visual version of Homer. I did with my camera what he did with his pen, although we understand that he probably didn't use a pen.” Lagerfeld gathered 15 female models, 5 male models, and Julianne Moore in his Paris studio back in April to produce 36 black and white images of deities from ancient Greece and Rome for the calendar. “I wanted to do something different. I looked at all the other calendars,” he explained, adding: “With such a concept and boys and girls like this, it was an easy job.”
Lagerfeld was surrounded by a cadre of the models featured for the Moscow launch, including Natasha Poly sporting a new brunette hair color. But who did he cast as whom? Julianne Moore plays Hera, Brad Kroenig poses as Zeus, Lara Stone gives her best Aphrodite, Jeneil Williams channels Hades, and Baptiste Giabiconi embodies the roles of both Narcissus and Apollo.
The rest of the cast includes: Bianca Balti (as a Bacchante), Elisa Sednaoui (Flora, Echo), Freja Beha Erichsen (Apollo, Pollux, Orpheus), Isabeli Fontana (a Bacchante), Magdalena Frackowiak (Athena, Estia), Anja Rubik (Hermes, Terpsichore), Abbey Lee Kershaw (Echo, Castor, Eurydice), Lakshmi Menon (a Bacchante), Heidi Mount (Aurora, Amphitrite), Erin Wasson (Ajax, a Bacchante), Natasha Poly (Melpomene), Daria Werbowy (Artemis, Penthesilea), Iris Strubegger (Athena), Sebastien Jondeau (Mars), Garret Neff (Bacchus), and Jake Davis (Achilles).
