Jennifer Lopez gave us the inspiration for a beautifully feminine work ensemble while leaving the 2013 nuvoTV upfronts, when she tucked this Dolce & Gabbana sheer floral tie-neck blouse ($795) into a pair of wide-leg trousers. In true J.Lo fashion, the singer added major pizzazz to her covered-up look via rose-tinted aviator sunglasses, a black patent Jimmy Choo clutch, platform sandals, and a bevy of gold jewels, including Marina B earrings and H.Stern ring. Score Lopez's exact blouse to incorporate into your work wardrobe or shop other pretty floral blouses on ShopStyle. Then to take your floral top from the office to a party, just swap the trousers for leather (pants, shorts, or skirt) for a harder-edged twist.
The sunnier seasons herald in a much more relaxed approach to dressing. For most, that means shedding the layers, and keeping it basic. For others — we count repeat performer Diane Kruger among them — it means breaking out the crop top. Last year, we saw the resurgence of bare midriffs in a noticeable way, and now it's becoming the go-to trend for Hollywood's A-list.
And thanks to Dolce & Gabbana, Prabal Gurung, Calvin Klein, and Marc Jacobs, the latest set of crop top-wearing stars aren't limiting the silhouette to the usual sculpted bralette style. Instead, Kruger chose a sportier version, Doutzen Kroes went with stripes and long sleeves, and Julia Restoin Roitfeld's breezy white iteration reminded us of a sexy slip dress. Since it's only mid-May and Summer hasn't even officially started, we're wondering: Will you be taking the crop-top look for a spin this season?
We can't get enough of Zoe Saldana's always on-point red carpet looks for the Star Trek Into Darkness promotional tour, but we also welcome her casual approach to making the daytime press rounds. En route to an interview at The Grove in LA, the actress supplied us with not one but two inspirational shorts ensembles. The first one was by Emilio Pucci: a turquoise printed silk top and crisp matching shorts, both from the Fall 2013 collection. The other — a dusty-rose lace blouse with white shorts, both by Dolce & Gabbana — was entirely dainty. Zoe completed both styles with the same pair of turquoise peep-toe pumps for that unexpected pop of color. We've pulled together some Saldana-inspired outfits to get you inspired to make shorts a style mainstay. Shop our picks below.
Tiffany & Co. hosted its 1920s-themed Blue Book Ball in NYC last night, which in turn inspired a seriously glamorous attendance list. Falling in line with the brand's theme and signature color, Kate Hudson stunned in a strapless, Tiffany-blue Reem Acra Resort '13 gown and sparkling diamond earrings. Gwyneth Paltrow opted for a cooler blue hue, wearing a long-sleeved Ralph Lauren gown with a jeweled butterfly brooch, and Jessica Biel showed off her love for Spring prints in a gorgeous floral-patterned Elie Saab gown and diamond-crusted hair brooch. And that's just the beginning. Click through the slideshow to see the rest of the chic celeb pack — including Sarah Jessica Parker, Carey Mulligan, and Michelle Williams — along with a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the swanky party scene inside.
While stripes may be a perennial favorite, the classic print certainly got a seasonal makeover on the Spring '13 runways, courtesy of designers Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana, and Michael Kors. And this time around, we're excited to wear it just by focusing on the accessories. From candy-striped sunglasses to low-key chambray-striped flats to one seriously gorgeous sequined clutch, there's more than one way to go the way of the stripe this season. Watch on for our must haves! On Allie: Zara blazer and top. On Marisa Tom: BCBG Max Azria top and blazer, Hysteric Co. rings.
The 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards provided the perfect "excuse" for a little Sunday night glamour, especially where Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood were concerned. Both singers chose floor-length creations for the occasion, but that's where the similarities ended. Swift sparkled in a gold formfitting Dolce & Gabbana number, which also featured a bejeweled art deco-inspired neckline and a sexy low back. Underwood stuck to her red carpet MO with a bright floral-print strapless gown by Naeem Khan, coral chandelier earrings, and a black clutch. While they go head-to-head for female vocalist of the year and album of the year at this year's ceremony, we're leaving it to you to decide who earned best-dressed status.
Black and white with a pop of red — that's exactly what both Lily Aldridge and Ashley Benson took on, two ways. It's not a revolutionary style formula, admittedly, but these looks remind us of the color combo's quiet impact. First, we love that they're in line with Spring's black-and-white trend, but of course there's no denying the cool dimension red adds to the mix. Benson's outfit is suited for daytime: a white tank with black ripped jeans and red ankle boots, finished with a luxurious lace Dolce & Gabbana bag and black-rimmed glasses. And Aldridge's look is perfect for a night out (we would add a blazer for further polish). The model started with a basic white V-neck tee, Citizens of Humanity leather jeans ($229), and red cap-toe pumps, then completed it all with a black leather tote, cat-eye sunglasses, and a sparkly rhinestone necklace.
