It's official: Taylor Swift knows how to make a serious entrance on the red carpet. The country music star did nothing but stun when she arrived to last night's CMA Awards in a dramatic ruby-red gown by Elie Saab Haute Couture, whose full skirt and classic silhouette channeled old Hollywood glamour. A sleek updo showed off a sparkling pair of oversize diamond earrings to finish off the attention-grabbing look, which saw a lot of stage time — the star ended up taking home three awards.
Last night's 20th Annual Elle Women in Hollywood event celebrated the best performances and contributions from women working in the film industry, including rising stars like Shailene Woodley and established talents Marion Cotillard and Reese Witherspoon. Calvin Klein was one of the event's sponsors, so it's no surprise that many of the attendees were dressed in Francisco Costa's designs. There were a few surprises though, including Emmy Rossum's red Elie Saab cocktail dress and Naya Rivera's plunging white Pamela Rolland jumpsuit. Pale shades or pops of girlie color were the name of the game at the event, with lots of white and red and only a handful of attendees opting for black. Although the show notes for the Elie Saab Spring 2014 collection billed it as a lace garden, it was actually a treasure trove for red carpet-ready dresses for this coming awards season. Like his couture dresses, this ready-to-wear line — a mix of cocktail party frocks and strict eveningwear — wasn't lacking in brightly colored silks, embroidered lace, and sparkly appliqués. The high-slit peachy rose gown, with its sheer bodice and 3D floral embellishments, might be most enticing for the A-list set, but the series of sprinkled-on glitter dresses was even more eye-catching. Then there were the painterly floral prints that truly brought the designer's vision of a blooming garden home.
Usually women stray away from heavy under-eye makeup, but Elie Saab is flipping that rule on its head. At the Spring 2014 presentation, the traditional smoky eye was inverted to concentrate most of the color underneath the eye with a foggy fade on the lids. The team at Elie Saab also remixed the standard approach to headbands, too. Each gold band was layered over and under hair for a woven element. The front of hair was slicked back to make way for superstraight strands down the models' backs. To finish it all off, the nails were a subtle gray shade. We think we've got our Spring night-out look down pat.
Eva Longoria took the 2013 Alma Awards as an opportunity to show off not one, not two, not even three, but eight looks in one night! And what stunning looks they were — all of them worthy of the spotlight. Between hot magenta, bold emerald green, rich navy, sheer onyx, embellished coral, moody sequins, red leather, and romantic pink, the actress was clearly the showstopper of the night. Step inside to see all of Eva's outfit changes from red carpet designers like Elie Saab, Randi Rahm, Paule Ka, and more.
Johnny Depp and his The Rum Diary costar Amber Heard are dating — two years after the movie came out. Since the film's premieres — and her many sizzling red carpet outings since — Amber has quickly become one of our favorite bombshells. The actress has looked stunning in everything from a red-hot Emilio Pucci gown to a plum-hued Dolce & Gabbana strapless dress to a black "Mod Marilyn" dress by contemporary label Honor. Is she channeling the iconic bombshell in her choices? We think so! Click the slideshow to see her hottest bombshell moments to date.

This season at Fall 2013 Haute Couture, Elie Saab gave her girl a retro-meets-modern treatment. The hair mimicked intricate architecture. A low bun was twisted into a flower shape, while the front of the hair was parted to the side and slicked down tight. Shocks of silver adorned the eyes of the models in a triangular shape, ranging from vintage near-white to modern gunmetal. Overall, the look was simple, elegant, and surprisingly wearable.
The look: Architectural buns, silver eye shadow, and petal-pink lips.
Who would wear it: This is the perfect look for a bride with a Gatsby-themed wedding.
Color scheme: Gunmetal, black, silver, and light pink.
Elie Saab can always be relied upon for drama, glamour, and sparkle. His Fall 2013 Couture collection included heavy dosages of all three, with an array of full-length gowns in emerald green, navy blue, a deep red, silver, and cream. In past seasons, this house has been praised for gossamer gowns that look and feel lighter than air. But some of the dresses Saab showed Wednesday felt weightier, either because they were cut from thicker fabrics or because they featured intricate decorations. Still, whether sheer or thick, these gowns are undeniably gorgeous and completely covetable.
The word "couture" gets thrown around quite a bit, but in reality it's a term reserved for a rarity of occasions. Haute Couture is a name protected by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and limited to a select group who qualify for the distinction. Which is why the semiannual Paris Haute Couture shows, starting once again with the Fall collections on Sunday, are such a brief and exciting period!
Houses including Chanel, Giambattista Valli, and Elie Saab (as shown from left to right) create spectacles with ornate and intricate hand-stitched made-to-order work. So what techniques in particular should you be looking out for on the runways? Find out— and zoom in on all the embellishments — in the gallery!
Tiffany & Co. hosted its 1920s-themed Blue Book Ball in NYC last night, which in turn inspired a seriously glamorous attendance list. Falling in line with the brand's theme and signature color, Kate Hudson stunned in a strapless, Tiffany-blue Reem Acra Resort '13 gown and sparkling diamond earrings. Gwyneth Paltrow opted for a cooler blue hue, wearing a long-sleeved Ralph Lauren gown with a jeweled butterfly brooch, and Jessica Biel showed off her love for Spring prints in a gorgeous floral-patterned Elie Saab gown and diamond-crusted hair brooch. And that's just the beginning.
