For Fall 2011, designer Alber Elbaz went for monochromatic outfits in classic silhouettes. Cocoon-like jackets and cape coats paired with pencil skirts along with wide-brimmed hats in black, brown, and red opened the show. But, as the show progressed, Alber demonstrated his emphasis on the female form with body hugging dresses with strong shoulders. Embellished necklines, structured hand bags, and menswear-inspired loafers added a finishing touch to the collection!
Fall 2011 Fashion Week Street Style Trend — Bold Prints

>> Perhaps it's a backlash to all of the die-hard, all-black donning stylefiles out there, but bold prints have taken Fashion Week street style by storm. Not for wallflowers, these attention-grabbing prints are a sure way to get you snapped in no time at all — we're especially smitten with the bold houndstooth blouse, apple-print trousers, and vibrant plaid coat, seen above. There's no better way to take the gloom out of a cold Winter's day — so shop our eye-catching printed picks below.

Fall 2011 Fashion Week Trend — Seeing Spots

>> Fall 2011 Fashion Week has us seeing spots — but there's no need to call the doctor. We're talking about polka dots, swiss dots, and the ones that fall somewhere in between, as seen on Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, and David Koma's runways. Mix together different sizes and colors for a perfectly clashed look, or stay chic in a one-piece ensemble. Can't wait until these masterpieces hit the racks? Check out what's in store right now.
Fall 2011 Fashion Week Trend — Crochet

>> Crochet details have been remixed and remastered for Fall 2011, infusing the once hippie-associated trend with a breath of fresh air. Proenza Schouler created a high-contrast black and neon crochet skirt; Christopher embedded the knit into a sweatshirt silhouette; and Edun embellished its woven skirt with a tassel detailing. Add their looks to your wish list for later, and shop our crochet picks available now!
Quick Hits With . . . Tank's Caroline Issa
>> We caught up with streetstyle favorite Caroline Issa of Tank magazine before Rag & Bone's runway show for a quick chat:
Which New York shows are you most looking forward to?
Rodarte, Proenza [Schouler], Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein.
What items in your closet are you wearing most right now?
My Givenchy jacket (shown left), because it's really cold outside, Equipment blouses, and a bunch of Phillip Lim stuff, actually.
What are you hoping to buy next?
I want to get a suit, a full tailored suit with big flared trousers.
And any Fashion Week vices?
I think probably just too much shopping during Fashion Week, that's definitely bad. And a lot of pasta in Milan — but that's not a vice, it's more of a pleasure.

Quick Hits With . . . Stylist Keegan Singh
>> We caught up with Keegan Singh after Jenni Kayne's runway show — which he styled — for a quick chat:
What item in your closet are you wearing most right now?
My Rick Owens shearling jacket. It's the best coat I ever invested in.
Any Fashion Week vices?
No, I have too much work to do.
What about Fashion Week essentials?
Lots of sleep, lots of water, and Vitamin C.
What are your post-New York Fashion Week plans?
I have to go to LA for a video shoot with SHOWStudio in the desert. I'm going to get some warmth, sunshine, and then head over to Paris Fashion Week.
