>> Photographer (and son of Jann Wenner) Theo Wenner took Frankie Rayder and Ashley Smith out to Amagansett on Long Island for Opening Ceremony's Fall 2011 lookbook shoot. As the settings range from a snowy bank to the bowling alley to the beach, wool blanket skirts, cozy knits, sixties-inspired minidresses, and the requisite helping of plaid are displayed, often styled by Lester Garcia with a pair of colorful tights. Full lookbook in the slideshow.
Reese Witherspoon struck a pose on Friday night at LA's MOCA, where the museum's new director, Jeffrey Deitch, hosted a reception honoring the late actor Dennis Hopper's show "Double Standard." Joining Reese for the artistic evening out were Selma Blair and Liv Tyler. Jim Toth was by Reese's side yesterday, though, for lunch at the Blue Plate Oysterette in Santa Monica. The happy couple enjoyed their latest fun weekend together during one of her breaks from work on Water for Elephants with costar Robert Pattinson — Reese and Jim even happily walked out to their car after the meal, showing off some PDA.

>> Alexander Wang may have changed up his collection's look for Spring 2010, but he's not about to lose his street cred. He partnered with Katie Grand and LOVE, rented out a Mobil gas station last night, and brought a crowd — which included Trish Goff, Daphne Guinness, L'Wren Scott, Erin Wasson, Vanessa Traina, plus fellow designers Esteban Cortazar and Gareth Pugh.
Despite the fact that the station's gas tanks were drained yesterday afternoon and the venue drenched with nonflammable suds, cigarettes were verboten; nicotine-dependent guests were constantly reminded with "Please stop smoking!" announcements. To take their minds off those forbidden cigarette, there were performances by both Courtney Love, who told the audience she received (ironically) a carton of cigarettes and a pair of shoes to play, and Santigold; plus guests had a free run of anything in the station's convenience store: Bee Shaffer took advantage of the candy aisle.
Alexander, for his part, seemed to be enjoying himself — he chatted up Lily Donaldson and Frankie Rayder, got down with Hanne Gaby Odiele (below), and jumped onstage and into Courtney Love's arms during her performance.
>> Alexander Wang hinted recently that he was ready to evolve, telling W's September 2009 issue: "As soon as people get used to what you’re doing, you have to change direction." And evolve he did for Spring 2010: the look of his last few collections, with their body-clinging shapes and primarily black palettes, was replaced by a generally looser silhouette and all shades of khaki, tan, olive, and gray. He told WWD that Spring 2010 for him "is very much about classic American sportswear," and the idea is visible in pieces like a sweatshirt dress with football pad detailing (below) and all the shinguard-like socks cut out at the back of the calf.
But Wang didn't give up the sexy side of his label — there were plenty of bra tops, crop tops, and and lingerie-style shorts to go around. The house was unsurprisingly packed, with Katie Grand (Wang's after-party co-host), Terry Richardson, Olivier Zahm, Diane von Furstenberg (Alex's CFDA-appointed mentor), Erin Wasson, Devon Aoki, Liya Kebede, and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin all front row. Frankie Rayder, Angela Lindvall, and Iselin Steiro walked, newcomer Mirte Maas opened, Karl Templer styled, and Wang's three styles of sunglasses debuted.
>> Frankie Rayder to Walk Alexander Wang; Erin Wasson's Mysterious A-List Guest, Musical Act — Alexander Wang is known to bring familiar model faces back into the runway mix for his show, and this season, rumors are going around that Frankie Rayder — who walked Michael Kors last season — will do his catwalk; her sister, Missy Rayder, recently posed for Wang's lookbook. Style.com promises that Erin Wasson's RVCA show tomorrow, too, will be "memorable . . . for reasons we mostly cannot elaborate" — she has a mysterious band playing and a mysterious A-List guest attending. >> New York Fashion Week is known as the springboard for new faces every season, but for Fall 2009, it's become the springboard for comebacks — especially with models right around the 30-year-old mark. This morning, Frankie Rayder (34), who hasn't hit a catwalk since the Fall 2004 with the exception of Spring 2009 Givenchy, walked Michael Kors. The runways of Preen, Rodarte, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs have been especially overrun with these mainly late-'90s, early-00's faces — from those who have hovered in and out the past few seasons: Anne Catherine Lacroix (29), Natasa Vojnovic (29), Caroline Ribeiro (29), Jamie Bochert (28), Christina Kruse (34), Carmen Kass (30), Colette Pechekhonova (28), Hannelore Knuts (31); to those who have exited the runway for a while — Tasha Tilberg (29), Kirsten Owen (38), Trish Goff (32) — all are booking some of the most coveted spots this season. Kors, Behnaz Sarafpour, Staerk, VPL, and Diane von Furstenberg are feeling it too — the mature woman is back in New York.
No one captures the holiday spirit quite like the Gap. It always manages to gather 'round the most adorable celebrities and models for its colorful holiday collection. This time around, sisters and models Frankie and Missy Rayder, (left), Mary-Louise Parker, Milla Jovovich, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Bateman, Rainn Wilson, and more are all part of the fun. Milla and Jason even brought their kids along for the ride. Aw! Argyle sweaters, cardigan dresses, stripe scarves, cozy hoodies — they all look so good wrapped around the stars, especially Twilight hottie Cam Gigandet. Do you dig the latest Gap ads?
>> We got a preview on Tuesday, and the rest of the Holiday 2008 Gap ads are here, full of Angela Lindvall's son's gap-toothed grin, Anja Rubik looking cozy in a furry hat, Erin Wasson trading in her usual ripped denim shorts for boot-cut jeans, Lily Donaldson with her little brother Jesse, and then some.
>> Thanksgiving is a little over two weeks away and it's time for Gap's Holiday 2008 ads to start trickling out. The theme of the season seems to be family — shots of sisters Missy and Frankie Rayder, Angela Lindvall and her two sons, plus one of model Sasha Knezevic hugging Anja Rubik with the tagline "Unwrap your girlfriend," launching "are they or aren't they dating" rumors, have all made their debut. Still to come? Ads with Lily Donaldson and her brother Jesse, Milla Jovovich and her daughter Ever, Erin Wasson, and sisters Nina and Chiara Clemente.

>> Kate Moss dropped down in LA last Thursday after a touch of the flu, and it's been shop, shop, shop ever since. Today she was joined by fellow Fall 2008 Stella McCartney campaign girl Frankie Rayder for a stop at vintage treasure troves Decades and Decadestwo; Kate is supposed to be doing the Spring 2009 Stella ads with three other girls, including Angela Lindvall — maybe Frankie will make a return, too? Their rock chic looks do mesh so well together . . .
