Free People Has the Festival Look of Our Dreams

As far as festival wardrobes go, the Free People Spring lineup comes pretty close to perfect.

As far as festival wardrobes go, the Free People Spring lineup comes pretty close to perfect. First, it brought us a beachy shoot with both Crystal Renn and Ieva Laguna cast as bohemian muses for the April catalog. Now, its newly released festival-inspired lookbook (with Martha Hunt playing cool-girl-gone-hippie) provides a Coachella-perfect selection of gauzy maxi dresses, embroidered tunics, crop tops, and printed swimwear. In short, if you're packing your bags for the second weekend at Coachella — or gearing up for any outdoor concerts — this lookbook comes just in time to inspire you as you plan your outfits. Sure, these collections also look to romance and some retro bombshell-inspired styling, but any one of these pieces could take on that quintessential festival feel with the right pair of ankle boots. Free People's January Looks Bright and, as Always, Bohemian Cool

Thanks to the sneak peek Free People released on its blog, we're getting a glimpse of the label's January collection.

Thanks to the sneak peek Free People released on its blog, we're getting a glimpse of the label's January collection. Let's just say, it's kick-starting 2013 with a cheery twist on their signature boho-cool girl. It's not just the clothes we're crazy about — photographer Guy Aroch captured the lineup of sweet embroidered sundresses, floaty maxis, and lacy tanks on a cast of models and regular girls riding bikes (adorned with balloons and flowers, no less) and strolling the streets of Amsterdam. It's a blend of beautiful pieces in an all-out gorgeous setting that makes us want to take an easy approach to our New Year style with pretty details and fluid silhouettes. It may not be warm enough to get away with a sundress or a slit maxi dress right now, but at the very least it gives us a lot to look forward to. Click on for a complete look at the January catalog — but first, get our takeaways right here:

  • Upgrade your Winter style with these printed trousers to liven up your cold-weather gear. When the ice starts to thaw, you can break them out again with sandals and a floaty tank.
  • We're adding this little dress to our sunny-weather must haves. We'll wear it all Spring with our favorite booties and a denim jacket.

Free People Sets the Stage For Impeccably Cool Holiday Style

Free People's latest lookbook fare, titled Stage Right, is just another excuse to keep the holiday styling inspiration at an all-time (dreamy) high, and we're more than OK with that.

Free People's latest lookbook fare, titled Stage Right, is just another excuse to keep the holiday styling inspiration at an all-time (dreamy) high, and we're more than OK with that. Here's the thing: we've come to expect nothing less than effortlessly cool combos from the bohemian-luxe brand, which regularly makes us wish we layered up in flowy maxi dresses, oversize cardigans, fringed skirts, and wool fedoras. This time around, though, Free People is doing what it does best — juxtaposing ultrafeminine silhouettes with a tougher tomboy attitude — with a timely holiday slant. And, without spoiling the prettiness ahead, let's just say, you'll be prepped with the essentials for any gorgeous cocktail party. Think metallics, lace, sequins, floral appliqué, and soft open-knit weave details. Below, find our top three picks — culled straight from the November lookbook — with our own styling tips, then click through for the rest.

    • How fresh is this delicate white lace top, accented with black suspenders? It's a playful juxtaposition of sweet and airy (done the wintry way, of course) with just a hint of a tough-girl vibe. To us, this is Free People at its core, pretty and just a little undone. Our styling suggestion? Just add cropped black trousers and a point-toe pump.
    • We're a little bit obsessed with the brand's just-debuted FP shoe collection, and these sexy lace-up moto boots are the cool-girl offset to your more festive feminine pieces. Pair these boots with a looser-fighting midi-length skirt and chunky bobbled knit sweater, or wear them over dark skinny jeans.
    • Brave enough to don gold embellished pants? Then try on this statement-making pair if you dare. All you'll need to complete the look are a simple silky blouse and ankle-strap pumps.
