The dog days of Summer have us yearning for some cool relief and in comes Zara to the rescue. The trendy retailer just released its Fall campaign featuring one of our favorite faces, Freja Beha Erichsen, wearing a preview of the brand's newest offerings for the season ahead. Shot in black and white, Freja looks every bit as laid back as the effortlessly chic clothes comprised of studded leather shorts, furry vests, printed pants, and slick blazers. Leave it to Zara and Freja to give bohemian wares a sleek edge. We can't wait to shop these affordable pieces for ourselves but for the time being, see the rest of Freja's shots for Zara's Fall woman campaign, and its TRF ads featuring the beautiful Cara Delevingne, now.
Words that come to mind when I think of Valentino ad campaigns: beautiful, cheeky, fierce. I loved its funny bag-covering-face concept in Spring/Summer '08 and Spring/Summer '09 with Stephanie Seymour. The new word to add to that mix is nude. The house's Fall campaign, shot by David Sims, features models Freja Beha Erichsen, Monika Jagaciak, and Tati Cotliar, in the buff. More specifically, it has two side-by-side shots of the same girl, one where she’s clothed in Valentino and one where she's nakie. Smart concept, but do you like the execution?
>> Confirmed: Karl Lagerfeld in New York to Shoot Fall 2010 Fendi, Chanel Ads —Yesterday, Karl Lagerfeld was spotted shooting Freja Beha Erichsen and Abbey Lee Kershaw in Chanel around New York's SoHo and Lower East Side neighborhoods; today, Andre Leon Talley confirms that Lagerfeld is in New York to shoot both the Fall 2010 Chanel and Fendi campaigns. Apparently, Karl is also already at work on his next short film, which will debut along with the Chanel Cruise 2011 collection in St. Tropez in May. [Vogue, ajchen.com]
I'm all about Twitter — follow me at heyfabsugar — so I was stoked when Vogue Italia dedicated its December cover to it. Fashion and technology have never collaborated in such a fun way! Just look at the long list of "followers" who helped tweet for the editorial: Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bundchen, Lara Stone, Karlie Kloss, Agyness Deyn, and more. Here's Christy Turlington in her sexy white lingerie in Buenos Aires. You don't want to miss the rest of the model tweets and TwitPics.
With Spring ready-to-wear in the bag, designers are conjuring up their Spring ad campaigns, placing the hottest of the hot with the most stylish shutterbugs. Thus far, we know Lara Stone will star in Louis Vuitton's ads, while Daisy Lowe will shine for its swimwear line. In Versace land, Donatella has chosen Fabcon Georgia May Jagger to be photographed by Mario Testino. On the celebrity front, Madonna was snatched up by Dolce & Gabbana — we're hoping she won't look as photoshopped as her previous Louis Vuitton ads.
