While we've always believed geek to be chic, it's proving to be cool beyond the tech and fandom worlds. Between statement tops and the official decree of "geek chic" as a style, nerds are ruling the runway. Take a look at a few of our favorite pieces that showcase our motto to the world — it's about time!
Style Bandit is constantly experimenting. This time around, she's some geek, so chic. I dig her loose-fitting dress, but more importantly, I love that she paired it with over-the-knee socks instead of tights. Good thinking, girl.
Here's what she has on:
- Dress: Vintage
- Shoes: Colin Stuart
Congrats to Style Bandit!
Everyone else, submit your looks and I might feature you on FabSugar!
Rhombus, The Clothing Line For Geeks
Never say a geek can't be sexy. Lisa and James Clunie started their own clothing line, Rhombus, to have "something for us computer kids who like science and math and bugs." If you're not squealing with nerdy sartorial anticipation yet, then you should be.
Geek chic is all the rage, but have you adopted it yet? I feel the need to geek out every once in a while, and my style reflects it. Cate Blanchett is definitely one who can get away with test driving questionable trends and she embodies geek chic here with her black-rimmed glasses. Other celebs like Chloe Sevigny and Amy Sedaris have shown their true geek colors via specs as well. What do you think? Are you ready to go from totally geek to totally chic?
