The Gotham Independent Film Awards unofficially kicked off the 2013 award season, and needless to say, we're already very excited. Last night, Marion Cotillard, Emily Blunt, and Lara Stone were just a few of the leading ladies who delivered easy glamour on the red carpet. Matt Damon and Marion Cotillard Win Big at the Gotham Independent Film Awards
The Gotham Independent Film Awards took place at NYC's Cipriani Wall Street last night, honoring stars in the movie industry including Matt Damon and Marion Cotillard. Matt arrived with wife Luciana Damon and posed on the red carpet with their pal John Krasinski and his spouse, Emily Blunt. John presented Matt with a Tribute award during the Euphoria Calvin Klein-sponsored show. From the stage, Matt said, "I have never taken this industry for granted and I never will . . . I'm truly blessed."
Marion Cotillard, who wore Christian Dior, received the corresponding female honor for her work in film. The best ensemble cast award went to Your Sister's Sister, and was picked up by director Mark Duplass and stars Emily Blunt and Rosemarie DeWitt. Amy Adams took the stage to praise Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell, and later said hello to her fellow actors with fiancé Darren Le Gallo. These leading ladies took on a little bit of everything — textural romance, structural lines, and a hint of bohemian chic — and made it work from head to toe.
