Shop Carey Mulligan's Roksanda Illincic Comic-Con Look, the Colorblock Trend

>> Colorblock has appeared on dozens of designers' runways for the last three seasons, but it's not all about Mondrian-style squares and hard-lined panels. As Carey Mulligan proved in a skin-baring Roksanda Ilincic frock at Comic-Con last week — and Karolina Kurkova attested earlier this month in a sweep of Sophie Theallet — the trend can be sweetly feminine and softly sexy as well. From Gucci's artfully-draped Spring 2011 versions to the Fall 2011 Grecian styles on offer from Carlos Miele and Costello Tagliapietra, here's a look at the softer side of colorblock.

Culture of Couture Shoutout: Grecian Inspired Frocks

Gee, what a surprise, grecian inspired silhouettes cropped up for Summer 08.

Gee, what a surprise, grecian inspired silhouettes cropped up for Summer 08. We can barely contain our excitement and shock at seeing this very avant garde shape emerge from some of the world's most high profile designers. Please designers, stop shocking us with your strange artsy ideas. Ohhhkay, they are quite pretty, a crowd pleaser at worst. Our network partner, Culture of Couture, gave props to the trend with a smattering of looks by Lanvin, Gucci, J.Mendel, and Alberta Ferretti. The color of the Gucci dress is to die for, seriously, but when we've checked out the Alberta Ferretti frock with chain detailing via ecommerce, we were suspicious of the way the chains drape. Feels a bit like the kind of dress that, well, makes your 'boobs look weird'. Sorry to be so crass, but we know you know what we mean. Check out Culture of Couture's hot little mock-up of this silhouette trend here.

Who Wore It Better? Dior Silky White Dress

It's easy to understand why both of these ladies donned this Dior dress — the draping, the flowing fabric, and dramatic waist sash exude pure Hollywood glamour.

It's easy to understand why both of these ladies donned this Dior dress — the draping, the flowing fabric, and dramatic waist sash exude pure Hollywood glamour. While Rachel accented it with shoulder grazing earrings, Tinsley Mortimer couldn't help throwing in her signature pink and perfect curls. They both look gorgeous to me — who do you think wore Dior better?

March Shopping Madness: Grecian Splendor

Grecian splendor will never go out of style because beautiful things never expire.

Grecian splendor will never go out of style because beautiful things never expire. Just ask drape-happy Rami Kashou from Project Runway. Although he overdid it, you can't deny that draped and one-shoulder styles are the closest we'll ever get to being a goddess . . . at least in this lifetime!

Kate Beckinsale recently channeled her inner goddess at a red carpet event in an Alberta Ferretti embellished Grecian gown. Like her, and many other red-carpet stars, let's dress like the goddesses we are.

Ali Larter is going Grecian here in her drop-waisted toga-esque J. Mendel dress at the Art Elysium Gala. She should have gotten it hemmed so we could see her shoes, and I am not so sure about this color on her, but I do think her hair and makeup is beautifully simple. What do you think?

Celebrity Style: Megan Fox

What are the odds that someone as foxy as this newcomer would have Fox as a last name?

What are the odds that someone as foxy as this newcomer would have Fox as a last name? Hmmm... Megan Fox is literally sizzling in her Grecian-style dress at the Seoul premiere of Transformers. I only wish she had worn a piece of jewelry, so I gave her a gold woven cuff. I guess when you're as pretty as Megan, your face and hair are your best accessories!
