Oscars: Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner donned a jaw-dropping custom Gucci Première violet silk crepe strapless column gown — showing her support for her Oscar-nominated husband in all-out glamour. From the front, her gown showed off a simple silhouette, but the back revealed an exaggerated back bow detail and dramatic ruffle detailing. Satin platform Brian Atwood sandals, stunning $2.5 million Neil Lane diamonds, and a clutch proved sleek accessories, while a chic updo and barely there nude lips finished off her Academy Awards look. What do you think?

Blake Lively Is the Face of the New Gucci Fragrance

Gossip Girl front woman Blake Lively is known for her high-fashion style (both on set and off).

Gossip Girl front woman Blake Lively is known for her high-fashion style (both on set and off). So it's no surprise that the Gucci team has selected the young actress to represent its new couture fragrance, Gucci Première. "She is a girl of extraordinary beauty and she's a girl who loves fashion," Gucci creative director Frida Giannini told WWD. "Although she's young, she's also very determined, and I liked this spirit.…She knows how to be a diva in the right sense, with an aspirational glamour."

Gucci Première hits counters this September in the States (and next month in the UK). But we're looking forward to the short film ad campaign, which was filmed by Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn. We already know there will be breathtaking gowns in the spot, but will it also feature fast cars and synth pop? Can't wait to find out.

Oscars: Cameron Diaz

Showing off her signature sun-kissed glow and perfectly toned arms, Cameron Diaz looked insanely chic in a cream-colored strapless Gucci Premiere gown, complete with shimmery tiered ruffles at the hem.

Showing off her signature sun-kissed glow and perfectly toned arms, Cameron Diaz looked insanely chic in a cream-colored strapless Gucci Premiere gown, complete with shimmery tiered ruffles at the hem. She rocked a sparkly diamond choker necklace, Salvatore Ferragamo blush satin peep-toe pumps, and an effortless blond bob with her nude ensemble. Although we weren't treated to an ultra leggy Cameron look, we still think this long-and-lean outfit is super polished and pretty. Do you agree?

Golden Globes: Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood has always loved Old Hollywood glamour, so it's not surprising to see her bringing the vintage drama in a Gucci Premiere dress that appears to be composed entirely of chiffon, sequins, and feathers.

Evan Rachel Wood has always loved Old Hollywood glamour, so it's not surprising to see her bringing the vintage drama in a Gucci Premiere dress that appears to be composed entirely of chiffon, sequins, and feathers. When you're wearing a peacock (with a "tail" train to match), it's wise to keep your makeup and hair conservative, and Evan Rachel's gone with soft pink lipstick and elegantly backswept hair. It's definitely one of the evening's most memorable ensembles, but is it unique in a good way? Vote on all of our Golden Globe Awards polls here!

>> Curious to see what the House of Dior puts out without a creative director at its head? The Fall 2011 Dior couture collection, which debuts in July, is being produced just that way — by the design studio alone — but a peek at what they're capable of came last night. Melanie Laurent debuted the Dior studio's first foray without a head designer — a couture gown inspired by an archival piece — for the Cannes Film Festival opening festivities. See that dress, plus Diane Kruger's slinky Calvin Klein Collection number, Rachel McAdams's peekaboo sheer Marchesa gown, and more from the first two days of Cannes in the slideshow.

First Look: Gucci's New Couture Line, Gucci Premiere

>> Although Gucci declined comment back in January when rumor went around that Frida Giannini was working on a debut couture collection for the brand, it appears the rumors were true.

>> Although Gucci declined comment back in January when rumor went around that Frida Giannini was working on a debut couture collection for the brand, it appears the rumors were true. The brand sent out a release today announcing that the dress Salma Hayek wore to the Robin Hood premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, at left, is the "very first" couture gown from the Gucci Premiere collection designed by Giannini.

The dress was described in the statement as a "floor length bordeaux silk georgette one shoulder gown with hip, back and shoulder drape detail [which] also features deep red crystal embroidery at the shoulder and waist." Hayek was accompanied on the red carpet by her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, CEO of PPR, which owns Gucci.

Back when the rumors of the Gucci couture collection went around, there were no plans to show it on the runway. Instead, it was said it would be sold by appointment and used to dress top celebrities for big red carpet occasions.
