What would it look like if you dispatched your grandmother to a late-night dance party? That's the question Henry Holland tried to answer with his Fall 2013 collection, a riot of color, pattern, and texture the designer lovingly named "Rave Nanna." The shapes of the clothes themselves are appropriately ladylike, but Holland cut his shift dresses, sweaters, and skirts from wallpaper prints in pink, orange, and avocado green. One shirt cut from the material was paired with a jacket and skirt in an acidic shade of lime. What wasn't patterned, like a green tunic sweater or a midnight-blue dress, was decorated in mischievous symbols like sparkly cigarettes or colorful pills.
House of Holland Fall 2013 Runway
For House of Holland's Fall '13 collection, designer Henry Holland kept things sleek and fun, yet perfectly polished. The rocker-cool Brit offered up ladylike geometric-print day dresses, metallic trench coats, and slouchy knits with a decidedly psychedelic '60s vibe. In the way of accessories, Holland didn't disappoint; his retro go-go girl will be clad in oversize cat-eye sunglasses, wide waist belts, and, best of all, jewel-encrusted leather baseball caps. We can't wait to see these pieces sported on the street by Holland's brood of celebrity fans, including style-setters like Poppy Delevingne and Alexa Chung. Click through now to see our curated list of the 10 coolest looks from House of Holland's Fall 2013 runway show.
House of Holland Spring 2013
Henry Holland was clearly thinking about the '90s when he designed his Spring 2013 collection. The spirit of that decade was present in everything from his liberal use of tie-dye, small-scale florals, and checkered prints to the shapes sent down the runway. A slip dress in a brown-and-purple brocade featured a crossbody spaghetti strap that was a timely update of the '90s classic, while peplums on midriff tops and dresses pointed to the baby-doll dress. The season's requisite neon colors and sheer fabrics were there, too, brightening and lightening up the gentle hints of grunge spotted on oversize shirts and motorcycle jackets.
Christopher Kane, Jade Williams, and Henry Holland Fete the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup
Despite the gloomy UK weather, there were plenty of bright spots at this past weekend's Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup polo final in West Sussex, England. Zara Martin and Jade Williams, for one — the pair was the picture of polish as they sipped champagne and zipped around the giant Veuve-themed carousel in their coordinated black-and-white Moschino skirt-and-jacket ensembles.

Also on hand and looking quite chic was Downton Abbey's Laura Carmichael, who attended on the arm of Christopher Kane and wore a vibrant printed dress from the designer's Resort 2013 collection. "We met at a party,” Kane explained of his and Carmichael's friendship. "We were both still there at 7 a.m., and I thought, anyone who can last as long as me is worth knowing. We’ve been friends ever since."

House of Holland Fall 2012
>> For Fall 2012, Henry Rolland went back to the '70s with a collection of super-bright separates in a high-energy palette of yellow, purple, fuchsia, and electric blue. It's "Mork and Mindy meets the Tour de France", the designer described. True, there were kooky color combos and playful zigzag prints, but there was an underlying elegance on offer as well. Silhouettes were streamlined and uncomplicated, while fabrics felt upscale. "It's a bit more elevated, a bit more luxe", Holland explained

Henry Holland Après Roxy
When I see a new Roxy collab, I'm all eyes. Even better when it's an unlikely pairing. British designer Henry Holland teamed up with the lifestyle brand on a new skiwear collection. Fifteen pieces will make up the collection, consisting of jackets, skirts, and knitwear. "When Roxy approached us about working with them on a small capsule collection I jumped at the idea as I loved the concept of designing a snow wardrobe based on functional and fashionable snow gear," Holland said. Here you have it: cozy heart prints, a black quilted bomber and zip-up skirt, graphic tees, coral and apple green beanies, studded dresses, and a letterblock dress. The collection hits stores in October, but only for ski bunnies in the EU . . .
Would You Wear a Nonwhite Wedding Dress?
I ask because Henry Holland of House of Holland designed this hot pink lace wedding dress ($1,200) for the bride who seeks a bold color on her big day. A lavender version, albeit sans slip, was worn by Dree Hemingway on House of Holland's Spring '10 catwalk. It's no doubt a pretty dress — one-shoulder, sheer, lace, pink — but definitely doesn't scream wedding. Would you wear it, or any other nonwhite dress, on your big day?
