The United States has Barneys New York, Canada has Holt Renfrew. The high-end department store is so huge, it operates 10 stores all over the country in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and more. And it has been host to many famous faces — some who appear to promote their clothing lines, some who come to party. Nicole Richie, Alexander Wang, Oscar de la Renta, and Donna Karan are just some of the names who have popped in to shop and mingle.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen stopped by Holt Renfrew in Toronto to support their line, Elizabeth and James. Maximalist Mary-Kate sported a silky LBD, cinched with a belt, and finished with jeweled mules. Surprisingly, she kept her jewelry to a minimum. Minimalist Ashley wore white-cuffed shorts, a gray sweater, a couple necklaces, and studded T-strap sandals. Both sisters stay true to their style, but which Olsen is more Fab?
>> The number of opportunities for fashion and style bloggers have exponentially grown this year; many scored coups in April, and this month they keep adding up. Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge designed six pairs of shoes for Urban Outfitters under the label J. Aldridge for Urban Outfitters, with the first three pairs hitting stores July 15 and the second three in December. Refinery29 and Teen Vogue have looks at the first set, which includes black studded gladiator heels ($98), black lace-up flats ($58), and knee-high peep-toe boots ($178), and as memory recalls marks the first design collaboration between a blogger and a major retailer — save perhaps Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast's upcoming pieces for RVCA.
