>> The new Pierre Balmain diffusion line launched Sunday in Paris, bringing with it lots of easy-wearing rock-tinged classics — moto jackets, skinny jeans — for Spring 2012. Priced from $172 (for tops) to $1,300 (for eveningwear), the collection is much more accessibly-priced than the main line — a Balmain T-shirt costs around $1,500 — and includes clothing for both men and women. Also accompanying the launch of the collection is a third — and final — Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin-directed video, which features a grunged-up Abbey Lee Kershaw on the run around Manhattan with her band, Our Mountain. Print ads are great, but there's something about videos that take campaigns to the next level of fashion greatness. And that's exactly what Stefano Pilati did, along with Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, for Yves Saint Laurent's Spring collection. Like the hard copy, the scene took place in the gardens of a 1930s villa in Marrakech's Palmeraie resort, reminding us of Yves Saint Laurent's love for Morocco. Inez and Vinoodh beautifully captured video shows Arizona fading in and out of palm trees all while wearing exquisitely cut gowns and jumpsuits from the collection. That is, if you have flipped through any fashion magazine. The married couple have worked with the hottest like Gucci, Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, Yves Saint Laurent, Isabel Marant, Givenchy, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, the list goes on. Inez and Vinoodh are celebrating 25 years in the business, so in honor of their top-notch work, let's gaze at 25 of our favorite shots. And if you happen to be in Amsterdam until mid-September, be sure to stop by Foam Museum for a retrospective on 300 of their photographs from 1985 to 2010.

We were fascinated a while ago — we still are — but so are Gianfranco Ferré designers Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi. The design duo chose the famous great-granddaughter to model their dramatic Spring collection. “We know she’s very trendy right now, but she really reflects the feminine and sensual message of the spring collection,” said Aquilano. Also look out for Hemingway in Mango's Spring ads, alongside Scarlett Johansson.

Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin snapped the sepia-toned black-and-white scene in a New York studio. The graphic cross-shaped structure provides cool contrast to the flowing fabrics. Dree looks pretty fantastic, as do the clothes. Are you smitten?

Deee-lish. It takes a bold gesture for a fashion ad to stop me flipping. I always love a '50s throwback to the swell days of muscle cars and poodle skirts. Would you have been a Rizzo or a Sandra Dee? In the Spring Giuseppe Zanotti ads, shot by Inez & Vinoodh, model Anja Rubki is a bit of both, and, therefore, deee-lish. I love the simplicity and candy colors. And, I can always be enticed with an ice cream sundae. The shoes, as always, are delectable. Rizzo Dee's uniform of sequin mini and tee is also a fun look to mimic when you're feeling frisky. So tell me: do you feel frisky?

When we found out Claudia Schiffer was Stefano Pilati's Spring muse, we were pretty sure the outcome was going to be Fab. See for yourself.

Shot in LA, right smack in front of the Hollywood sign "Y," it is stunning. Though you can barely recognize Claudia's face — it's more just a statuesque blonde in a long and lean navy ensemble — you can tell it's a pro in YSL garb. And notice how the silver grid shoes tie in with the black grid structure. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, this image will also serve as the cover of YSL's next manifesto. Gap will be unveiling a limited edition artist t-shirt collection set to launch in select stores and online May 15th. In celebration of the 2008 Whitney Biennial, Gap has joined forces with top contemporary artists in producing limited edition artist tees. Some artists include Chuck Close, Jeff Koons, Marilyn Minter, and Kiki Smith with t-shirt designs ranging from political messages to colorful abstract confections. I especially like the bright burst on the Glenn Ligon tee. The classically Gap ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — Fab, as usual. Something to look forward to!
