It was all about Isabel Marant's wedged sneakers in 2012, but now the Parisian designer has come out with yet another eye-catching creation: a tassel bootie ($600) that's a hybrid between a sneaker and a boot. Isabel Marant is known for making rock 'n' roll ready-to-wear that all the cool girls want to own, and Fall 2013 certainly offered plenty to keep her loyal fan base happy. This season, however, the collection was edgier and darker than we've come to expect, with the rock 'n' roll vibe leaning closer to heavy metal — quite literally. Shiny nailhead studs were the adornment of choice; they traced the hems of square-shouldered jackets, sparkled like sequins on skinny scarves, and covered every surface inch of wrapped miniskirts for an almost chain-mail effect. The studs were also present on bustiers and bra straps, both of which were revealed via cutouts across the bust on sheer, body-con tops. When worn with tiered minishorts and flippy skater skirts, they gave the collection a major — and unexpected — dose of sexiness.
