Look of the Day: Let the Sun Shine In

Gearing up for the warm Spring weather, krEnElk decided to spruce things up with a little color and a lot of leg.

Gearing up for the warm Spring weather, krEnElk decided to spruce things up with a little color and a lot of leg. She let the sunshine in with a gorgeous mint green dress layered with a long cardigan to keep the chill off. She's also wearing those fabulous, talked about Old Navy wooden wedges!

Here's what she has on:

  • Dress: Karen Zambos Vintage Couture
  • Tank Top: Express
  • Cardigan: Urban Outfitters
  • Belt: Unknown
  • Shoes: Old Navy

Congrats to krEnElk!

Fab's April Most Wanted

Fab's April Most Wanted

Funny how shopping cravings go in and out with the seasons. Has everyone recovered from the holidays financially and are ready for Spring shopping?! You'll notice this month's most wanted are pretty plentiful — because Fab's in the mood for shopping. What are my Spring necessities? I need more prints, some fierce colorful shoes, and lots more jewelry. Sounds very Spring appropriate huh? It's time to shop ladies . . .

Nicole Richie stepped out for some shopping and a refreshing drink in her much-loved boho style. She made this Karen Zambos Vintage Couture dress her own with her trademark Balenciaga, oversized sunnies, and Grecian sandals. I suppose we should be adding the H (for Harlow!) initial necklace to that list now too. It's good to see Nicole out and about more often, though I'm sure she's being kept busy in her new mommy role!

Trend Alert: Subtly Sparkly

Designers, and their followers (ahem) can't get enough of embellishments, i.e. mirrors, beading, embroidery and sequins. Beautiful in both the Winter and Summer, something subtly sparkly is the proper choice for a date night, a cocktail part-tay or if you just want to feel pretty. Ali Larter knows how to dazzle in her beige subtle sparkler. Because the aforementioned embellishments tend to be around the neckline and front of dresses, I suggest a lovely updo, as not to distract from the subtle sparkles. Again, Ali, nice work.

Has Kelly Osbourne stepped up to the fashion plate or what?

Has Kelly Osbourne stepped up to the fashion plate or what? From her new cropped 'do to her slimmed-down bod, Ozzy's little girl is all grown up and looking Fab. At the Fiat 500 party, she stood out in a gorgeous Karta jeweled-waist dress that's part sexy, part sophisticated. I commend the gold shoes on black-opaque tights effect. Out with the goth, in with the chic!

Jenny McCarthy stopped at Agent Provocateur on Melrose looking quite fierce in her Karen Zambos cashmere cardigan and Chloe ankle boots. I love it when an understated ensemble is given a kick of color, like Jenny's patent cobalt bag. In her case, the bold accessory lends a playful tone to her otherwise serious look.

Party On Party Dresses: One(derful) Shoulders

One-shoulder dresses had a strong presence earlier in the year at the Oscars and they're still wowing us today.

One-shoulder dresses had a strong presence earlier in the year at the Oscars and they're still wowing us today. Cate Blanchett, in Armani Privé stole the show, so why not do the same this New Year's?

One(derful) Shoulder dresses are great for ladies who have chiseled shoulders and want to show them off. If your problem areas are below the waist, opt for an asymmetrical frock to draw attention to your décolletage. I'd stay away from necklaces but would rock a gorgeous cocktail ring and retro open-toe pumps.

Double Take! Vanitas vs. Karen Zambos

Vanitas is all over the place these days.

Vanitas is all over the place these days. That's why I did a double take when I saw this Karen Zambos Vintage Couture Sleeveless Phoebe Dress ($215, originally $429) in the same exact fabric. Wait a minute . . . isn't that the print of Vanitas' Kimono Red Silk Dress ($284)? Yes it is!

It's a very small fabric world out there. Chances are both brands visited Premiere Vision, a fabric trade show, and liked the same print. Can you blame them though? It's a beautiful retro-inspired pattern. This happens from time to time, but the reason we don't see it more often is because many brands design their own fabric. That's probably a wise decision considering you don't want clones of your clothing walking around. Just some fashion for thought.

Online Sale Alert! Help Me Pick A Dress From Shopbop!

In a couple of weeks I will be going to a VIP preview of a Vivienne Westwood exhibit at the de Young museum in San Francisco.

In a couple of weeks I will be going to a VIP preview of a Vivienne Westwood exhibit at the de Young museum in San Francisco. It's on a Saturday night and I'm going to get my makeup done at Sephora beforehand. Sounds like fun huh? But with fun comes the outfit dilemma. Because it's a Saturday night, and one of Britain's most daring designers, I want to wear something bold - but it is at a museum, so not too bold. I was perusing the awesome sale section at shopbop and found three candidate dresses. Help me choose the ONE!

(L-R)

Diane von Furstenberg Baby Jane Dress, on sale for $192.50 (originally $275).

Karen Zambos Vintage Couture Lindsay Dress, on sale for $284.90 (originally $407).

KAROO Mark Eisen Halter Dress, on sale for $176 (originally $352).

Please tell me your thoughts below. Thanks ladies!

I feel pretty...Oh so pretty...I feel pretty and witty and gay...This ballet-inspired trend is definitely a pretty one. You all know I attended the Nutcracker last month and am a fan of the ballet. This trend will also spill into Spring 2007 ala Michael Kors. I'm pretty jazzed about this look; here are my picks:
