We've all owned a pair of Keds in our lifetime and now, just a mere 95 years after the brand was first conceived, Keds is launching a clothing line. The limited-edition Resort collection is set to launch exclusively during the holiday weekend on Black Friday at Opening Ceremony stores and on its website. There will be 85 styles to shop from and judging from the sneak peek below, we expect to see a preppy-meets-cool collection of printed dresses (we love the adorable Peter Pan collar), varsity-inspired sweaters, and tailored tops ranging from $48 to $400. We can't wait to grab a piece for ourselves and, since it's the holiday season, one for our BFF. What are your thoughts on the collection?

Back to Cool: Drop Dead Gorgeous

The first thing I remember about Drop Dead Gorgeous — aside from the amazing Minnesota dialect — is the all-star cast.

The first thing I remember about Drop Dead Gorgeous — aside from the amazing Minnesota dialect — is the all-star cast. Pageant contestants Denise Richards, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, and Brittany Murphy all vie for the crown in little Mount Rose. But take away the big hair and pageant garb, and it's straight up small-town, all-American. So, when channeling the beauty queens, try cutie kicks, like Keds Classics ($40), glittery jewels, like this Statement Flower Necklace ($12), and sunny-sweet dresses, like C&C's Eyelet Cap Sleeve Mini Dress ($148). Just smile pretty and wave — and click the items above to shop the look.

Back to Cool: Dirty Dancing

If you're feeling back to cool, then I've got another dose of inspired ensembles.

If you're feeling back to cool, then I've got another dose of inspired ensembles. This time, I'm channeling the nostalgia of one of my favorite film classics, Dirty Dancing. Oh, who could forget Baby and her coming-of-age quest in the Summer of '63? Once she meets Johnny it's buh-bye family fun, hello sexy dance parties. But aside from sultry Summer love, it's also a study in easy, retro-fied chic. Steal Baby's signature style with this Seven For All Mankind Oversize Shirt ($155), or do like Baby's big sis, Lisa, and try preppy pearls and a pretty party dress like this ModCloth Periwinkle Prance Dress ($99). Just remember — "nobody puts Baby in a corner!" Shop the style by clicking on the items.

Trend Alert: Sporty Summer Kicks

I barely recognized Tinsley Mortimer here.

I barely recognized Tinsley Mortimer here. Have we ever seen her in sporty Summer kicks? She's usually dolled up in heels; I like pared-down Tinsley. She smartly complemented her alice + olivia '70s-print tank dress with some slip-on Chucks. This look is perfect for a concert, tourist adventure, or other active endeavor. My go-to brands are Keds, Converse, Adidas, Puma, and Sanuk's sidewalk sandals, for the sand-loving stylist.

Naomi Campbell still loves her day job.

Naomi Campbell still loves her day job. Of walking the runway at age 39, she told Vogue.com UK this morning: "When I get asked, if I'm in the right part of the world then I love to do it. I like the adrenaline rush and the live aspect of it. It's nice when it's well received and I like helping out the designers if they want me there."

Keds. What's not to like?

Keds. What's not to like? Add sequins to the classic, and it's fashion gold. Alice + Olivia is teaming up with the iconic brand creating a fancier version of Keds’ classic Champion style. Available for $88 in four colors — black, silver, pale pink, and safari green — they will launch this Spring at select Neiman Marcus stores, neimanmarcus.com, as well as at Alice + Olivia boutiques and aliceandolivia.com.A+O founder Stacey Bendet explains: “I don’t think I removed Keds from my feet as a kid. I can’t even count how many pairs I had. We decided to do a collaboration that would bring a little Alice + Olivia fun to the 2010 Keds Champion.” Super cute, enough said.

A Fabby Halloween: Baby

What better way to pay tribute to the late Patrick Swayze than with an ode to his "Baby" in Dirty Dancing?

What better way to pay tribute to the late Patrick Swayze than with an ode to his "Baby" in Dirty Dancing? The story of a rich and innocent teenage girl turned infatuated woman will always be engraved in my memory. My favorite scene was when Frances "Baby" Houseman told Swayze she carried a watermelon — hilarious. Replicate Baby's innocent '80s look in a white Summer dress and matching heels, or with high-waist denim shorts and a cropped white top. Oh yes, don't forget the tight curls and sexy dance moves!

Back to Cool: Saved by the Bell

Hands down, Saved by the Bell was my favorite after-school show.

Hands down, Saved by the Bell was my favorite after-school show. High school couldn't look cooler with Kelly Kapowski, Lisa Turtle, and Jessie Spano. Of course, hotties Zach Morris (remember the huge cellphone he used to carry in his pocket?) and beefcake A.C. Slater provided hunky eye candy. And Screech, who could forget Screech? Loved him. I was only in grade school when this show debuted, so I could only dream of wearing Kelly's crop tops and Lisa's tight denim shorts — Jessie had legs for days in those washed out skinny jeans. The girls also fancied jean jackets, high-waist pants, and floral prints. Sigh, what I would do for a Freaky Friday experience with Kelly Kapowski circa '91 . . .
