This week kicked off the most sizzling fashion week yet — the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim Miami, Spring 2010. Prominent swimwear lines like Tibi returned, while newcomers like Caffe Swimwear and Marysia splashed around for the first time. Celebs Olivia Palermo, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Perry Reeves were there to partake in the sexy fun. Expect Spring '10 swimwear and resort to be characterized by leather, one-shoulders, loud prints, swim caps, and exotic cover-ups. Sounds and looks muy caliente to me!
Did you happen to see the two-part Real Housewives of New York City reunion series this past week? In case you missed it, let's just say it was filled with more arguing and catfights than the entire season put together. Aside from the usual blog talk (Ramona vowed to never blog again after the ladies questioned her on her "choice of words"), there was some additional geekery — right at the end when reunion host Andy Cohen mentioned LOL. Now if you can remember, Kyra Sedgwick admitted to the improper use of LOL, but I can't decide if Kelly is just trying to be funny or if she really didn't know what he meant! See for yourself below.
Jewelry designer and reality star of The Real Housewives of New York City Kelly Killoren Bensimon has an idea about fashion — after all, she once served as accessories editor at Elle magazine. The former model is also the author of many books, one of them being The Bikini Book ($35). With Summer on the horizon, this 400-page tribute to the bikini is the perfect way to get inspired. Go back in time and see what bikinis Hollywood pinups of the '50s, Bond girls, and Brigitte Bardot wore to look sexy. Also get visuals of the monokini, tankini, bandini, and v-kini. I know, v-kini? Intrigued?
You may know Kelly Killoren Bensimon as a former model, author of "In the Hamptons," trendsetter, equestrian, mother or as the former Elle Accessories editor. Now Kelly is also a jewelry designer! The Illinois native's mom was obsessed with fashion and exposed her to all things beautiful at a very young age. Kelly instantly fell in love with fashion and jewelry and decided to branch off from writing to create a jewelry line to fulfill her passion.
Her dream was to make something that Jackie O. would have worn in Capri or Talitha Getty would have worn on the Riviera with her oil tycoon hubby.
Kelly's line of unique, modern and luxurious, 1960's wise owls was recently born. The owls are made from movable pieces and adorned with Swarovski crystals.
The collection has been sold in Calypso stores in St. Barth's and in NYC but is now sold exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman. Unfortunately, they are not available online yet, however you can order pieces by calling (800)558-1855. They retail for $325 each.
