Christopher Kane Sends Out Gingham Girls for Spring 2010

>> A few days ago, Christopher Kane dropped an image of a doll he did over the summer as a hint at his Spring 2010 collection, adding that he channeled it "not in the literal sense, but more of a feeling."

>> A few days ago, Christopher Kane dropped an image of a doll he did over the summer as a hint at his Spring 2010 collection, adding that he channeled it "not in the literal sense, but more of a feeling."  To a front row of Natalia Vodianova with Anna Wintour and Topshop's Sir Philip Green squeezed between Donatella Versace and Allegra Beck Versace, the end product came out all gauzy gingham in black and pastel colors, symmetrical front slits up to there, and Swarovski embellished floral brocade.

Jenny Shimizu walked in a tailored suit apparently made in collaboration with Savile Row tailors Norton & Sons; Lara Stone, who skipped New York Fashion Week altogether, made her first runway appearance of the day — her second was at Jaeger.  And Kane, a self-professed fan of television, sent everyone home with a Gossip Girl season two DVD in their gift bags.

>> Models Missing from the New York Runways: An Update —With only one more day of New York Fashion Week to go, a number of top models still haven't set foot on a catwalk.  Anja Rubik finally appeared at Michael Kors this morning — so did Carmen Kass and Jacquetta Wheeler — but Catherine McNeil — who is supposedly booked all through the New York shows on another job — Toni Garrn, Lara Stone, Anna Maria Jagodzinska, Sigrid Agren — who's rumored not to be doing any shows this season — Tanya Dziahileva, Raquel Zimmermann, and Georgina Stojiljkovic are all totally MIA.  In other modeling news, Jessica Stam joined the increasingly large number of models bleaching their hair — she debuted the new hue today at Anna Sui.

Missing from the New York Runways: Where are Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, and Lara Stone?

>> Official day three of New York Fashion Week is over, and still no sign on the runway of usual heavyweights Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, and Lara Stone — even at shows where they're most likely to be in, like Rag & Bone or Alexander Wang.

>> Official day three of New York Fashion Week is over, and still no sign on the runway of usual heavyweights Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, and Lara Stone — even at shows where they're most likely to be in, like Rag & Bone or Alexander Wang. It seems that Raquel may not be walking in New York — her agency DNA didn't publish a showcard for her, but she's definitely in town — she was all over the place Sept. 10 for Fashion's Night Out.

Lara and Anja, meanwhile, both attended Fashion's Night Out at Burberry in London, not New York.  They do, however, each have a showcard for New York, so maybe they're being saved for later on in the week?  If they're coming back stateside, that is . . .

Not Just A Label Stocks Shop for September with Pieces Handpicked by Lara Stone

>> Before she returns to the catwalk later this month, Lara Stone is guest curating a selection of wares from both newcomers and established designers for Not Just A Label's online store THE SHOP.  The pieces she handpicked represent plenty of her favorite dark color — she "wants comfortable clothes to wear between jobs, mostly black and lots of hoodies," she told The Moment — plus a little orange for her Dutch heritage.  They will be available starting tomorrow through the month of September.

Lara Stone Scores Second Vogue Paris Cover This Year — For September 2009 — By Going Brunette

>> So it turns out Vogue Paris's September 2009 cover — the one that was rumored to feature a "radical model makeover" — does boast Lara Stone, as suspected, complete with eyebrows (hers are normally bleached) and dark brown hair.  The image, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, marks the second this year Carine Roitfeld has devoted to Lara — the first fronting the February 2009 issue, in which she was the only model.

Contrary to what was originally reported, Vogue Paris's August issue is not all about Daria Werbowy.

Contrary to what was originally reported, Vogue Paris's August issue is not all about Daria Werbowy. Bummer. The Canadian shares the spotlight with fellow models Eniko Mihalik, Anja Rubik, Raquel Zimmermann, Lara Stone, Regina Feoktistova, and many more. Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin capture 64 essential Fall designer looks — some silly, some serious, some sexy, some demure. But all equally fab-u-lous, like Daria having a blast in Balmain (left). Here are more highlights.
