There are few pieces that are as timeless as a Chanel tweed jacket, so it's no surprise designer Karl Lagerfeld held a glamorous party with a photo exhibition to celebrate Chanel's little black jacket. Stylish stars clad in the designer du jour including Karolina Kurkova, Lily Collins, and Poppy Delevingne stepped out for the affair in NYC, as did Karl Lagerfeld himself. Black and white definitely seemed to be a reoccurring theme on the red carpet — watch today's Fab Flash to hear more about this fashionable affair. >> Chanel's classic black jacket is the focus of a new book by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld — and they enlisted over 100 models, celebrities, and fashion people to help with the project.
Lagerfeld shot everyone from Roitfeld to Sarah Jessica Parker to Alice Dellal for the tome, titled The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited. The book presents Chanel's tweed bracelet-length jacket as a piece that "belongs to every era," and perhaps that's true — it looks just as chic when Roitfeld uses the jacket to dress up as Coco Chanel as it does when Parker wears it as a headdress.
Take a look at the making of the book below and mark your calendars — it'll be in bookstores and online this Fall.
