Rachel Zoe had a fashion summit on the beach in St. Barts yesterday. The stylist-turned-designer chilled on lounge chairs with her pal Marc Jacobs, who was appropriately decked out in gear and towels from the design house he oversees, Louis Vuitton. Marc's possibly on-again love interest Lorenzo Martone showed his loyalty in a pair of LV-designed swim trunks. Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon was also there decked out in a red two-piece for the afternoon on the sand. Tamara actually left Choo in November and is reportedly seeking to launch another exclusive label. She and her daughter Minty are celebrating the big changes on vacation together. Tamara shared on Twitter that the girls have been stuffing themselves with crepes.

The holiday is also a family gathering for Rachel, whose husband Rodger Berman joined in on the sandy fun. Their young son Skyler came along too, and he was ready for the sun in an adorable white hat. Rachel's wrapping up her holiday vacation in the Caribbean. She's sharing well-wishes with fans, and tweeted yesterday, "Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and most glamorous 2012 from paradise."

Rachel Zoe and her good friend Marc Jacobs hit the beach in St. Barts together yesterday. She brought along her little one, Skyler Berman, for the afternoon on the sand. Marc and his ex Lorenzo Martone were photographed playing with Skyler, who was too cute in his warm-weather outfit. It was reported earlier this month that Marc Jacobs was dating adult actor Harry Louis, but it seems the designer is still close with Lorenzo. In fact, Marc told Vogue recently that he and Lorenzo are still "best friends." Rachel, meanwhile, is off in the Caribbean with Skyler and her husband, Rodger Berman. She, Rodger, and Skyler are enjoying fun in the sun after spending the holidays back at home in LA. 2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for Rachel and Rodger. Rachel Zoe will launch two new collections in the coming year, though she's keeping mum on the details for now.

And Cathy Horyn reports that they had hoped to start at 7:45 pm. But it turns out that once again, Marc's show started right on the dot, with six models walking at once, each coming from different exits in the gold circular centerpiece, as Vivaldi's "Summer" from The Four Seasons played over the loudspeaker.

The show was pure '70s, recalling Bianca Jagger and Jodie Foster from Taxi Driver — all wide-legged trousers, frizzy hair, with oversized flower corsages and gold glitter platforms. A jolt of color, Jacobs (who took his bow in pants and Cuban heeled shoes in place of a skirt) said backstage, after last season's beige. He also cited the New York Dolls, Antonio Lopez, Yves Saint Laurent, and Calvin Klein as references, explaining that he wanted to celebrate everything that made him fall in love with fashion. Jamie Bochert, who owes her career to Marc, made her first appearance of the week, and Jourdan Dunn and Alessandra Ambrosio walked, too. Redheaded newbie Luisa Bianchin opened.

It appears that Jacobs's recent celebrity ban was lifted: Alexa Chung and Nacho Figueras were there, and Courtney Love was late and caught the tail end of the show, which ended at 8:11 pm. Jacobs's ex-fiance, Lorenzo Martone, gave him a hug and kiss backstage afterward. And rumor has it that the show's set will do double duty as the Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 campaign backdrop, to be shot in tandem with the show.

The other day I bought a little 1962 Ellsworth Kelly at the Christie’s auction, but that’s it. It was a funny thing for me to buy, too. It’s just a white square with a yellow curve. Usually I like more figurative work – this is the sort of thing I’d look at and admire but not want to buy. But I just like it . . . it makes me happy.”
