After years of successfully manning an empire of casual clothing and accessories, Jessica Simpson is branching into new territory: fine jewelry. Simpson's "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" line arrives in nationwide Zales stores this October and offers wallet-friendly keepsakes at any budget. Priced between $79 to $999, the collection boosts an array of options in gold, silver and diamonds (or a combination of the three). Given the on-trend and affordable options we've come to expect from the singer, we can't wait to see what she turns out this time. If this sweet little white gold and diamond heart pendent is any indication of what's to come, we're totally on board. What do you think? Will you be shopping Jessica's new jewelry line? [WWD]

We adore our friends at Lucky for great shopping tips and cute style, which is why we're thrilled to present this fab story from the Lucky blog!

Admittedly, I’m a huge nerd. I’m freakishly good at video games. There’s not a history exam that I won’t ace (partially because I have a photographic memory, but I am really into world history), and I’m often drawn to the nerdiest of sartorial trends. As luck would have it, geek was a major theme on the Fall runways. Aside from showing you my favorite dorky pieces for Fall, I’d also like to persuade you that nerds come in all forms — sometimes they’re cooler, hotter, and trendier than you’d think. So, scroll through to see my chic revenge.

“Hadley Sweater,” $98, Jcrew.com

Get a preppy sweater, and layer it up dorky style! Take a pastel pullover and throw it over a collared shirt (with the collar popped): so ‘80s high school movie, so perfectly dork-a-rama. This look is back. For me, it never went away, but I won’t take credit for resurrecting it. Unless Jenna Lyons saw me on the street and decided to base her entire Fall collection on my look. Could be?

Style Session: Brit Marling

Lucky magazine caught up with hot young actress Brit Marling, who is not only wowing audiences for her roles as actor and producer of indie film Another Earth, but she's wowing with her personal style the New York Times labeled 'Manhattan-era Meryl Streep with California surfer girl'. We're thrilled to share this fabulous story from our friends at Lucky!

Lucky: How would you describe your personal style?
Brit Marling: I’ve always dressed a bit differently, a bit androgynously, I always loved boy’s clothes: the color and cut of them. I love the way Katherine Hepburn dressed; I love the severity of it. It’s funny, all of the people I am thinking about are from the past, I don’t know why. But maybe people in the future will look back to now and think about the actresses of our time like “Oh that person was so iconic.” This is my least tomboy attire, like I should’ve said that rolling in oxford shoes, a blazer, and a tie. I guess I like to go back and forth between extremely masculine and extremely feminine.

Lucky: Where do you shop?
BM: I am really big on vintage clothes. There a couple places in LA and New York that I love to go. You really feel you’re finding something that nobody has. That is very cool, and then pairing it with things from this world. I am into the harem pants right now, with like men’s shoes and a t-shirt—it’s almost like a uniform that I wear everywhere. It’s comfortable, its casual, and it’s also slightly different than jeans. I am not a big jeans girl, mostly because I don’t find them that comfortable.

Lucky: Any specific boutiques you can recommend?
BM: In LA, there is a good place called The Way We Wore. In New York, Amarcord always has strange little finds in it. And then I love going to flea markets and thrift stores and finding the random, odd cashmere sweater or strange skirt.

Get Christina Hendricks's Curves!

Our friends at Lucky magazine spoke with Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant on dressing actress Christina Hendricks and her secret shapewear sources.

Our friends at Lucky magazine spoke with Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant on dressing actress Christina Hendricks and her secret shapewear sources. We admire Christina's sexy hourglass figure and are thrilled to present Lucky's interview here.

Though there are still a good eight months of hiatus left until Mad Men returns to air next March, costume designer Janie Bryant has been keeping plenty busy. This August, Banana Republic will launch an entire Mad Men-inspired line, which Bryant helped create, featuring party dresses, separates, shoes, and handbags all worthy of Betty, Joan and Peggy. But how will shoppers pull off the looks if they don’t quite have the body? We rang up Bryant to ask her how us modern girls can create those killer retro curves.

What’s it like working with Christina Hendricks?
It’s great! We have a great understanding for her character Joan, and I am always designing pieces for her. We work together closely, and from the beginning there has been a lot of trust. Sometimes she may not be into a certain color, but most of the time she loves everything.

The following is a story from our friends at one of our favorite shopping sources, Lucky magazine!
If you’ve been fortunate enough to spend time in the Bahamas, you’ve probably made it into Harbour Island’s The Sugar Mill. Owned by author-model-designer India Hicks (who also happens to be the daughter of famed interior decorator David Hicks and granddaughter of the Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma), the fashion and lifestyle boutique is a regular stop for locals and visitors alike, thanks to tastemaker Hicks’ eye for the eclectically elegant and beachy-chic. Now, she’s taken it all online, bringing her worldly style and relaxed island vibe to the Web. The refreshingly uncluttered and calmingly white-toned site features everything from $50 colorful sarongs and $45 bronzed sandals, to items from Hicks’ brand-new fine jewelry collection. Resort 2012 Trend: Bright Is Right

Our friends at Lucky magazine are always on top of the latest trends, which is why we're paying attention to this post on the bright trend for resort 2012.

Our friends at Lucky magazine are always on top of the latest trends, which is why we're paying attention to this post on the bright trend for resort 2012.

We are having a major crush on neon right now, so imagine how exciting it was to see so many of our love objects popping up in the resort collections. Bright colors are a visual trigger to thinking about the beach (“hot pink? Beach!” “Bright yellow? Beach!”) and they do wonders for every neutral (but particularly navy or khaki). In the collections, the sartorially adventurous went bright-on-bright, and that really stopped the show. We DIED for the cropped fuchsia jacket paired with a tangerine skirt at Giambattista Valli. For a more subtle take on neon, go for the white dress at ALC—ethereal and flirty with just a hint of fluoro yellow hidden on the inside hem. Dazzling.

Christina Hendricks: Actress by Day, Web Shopper by Night!

We regularly comb Lucky for great shopping tips, and we're thrilled to find this article on Lucky Right Now that highlights their cover girl Christina Hendricks's web shopping tips!

We regularly comb Lucky for great shopping tips, and we're thrilled to find this article on Lucky Right Now that highlights their cover girl Christina Hendricks's web shopping tips!

We are madly girl-crushing on Christina Hendricks here at Lucky. What’s not to love about her? She’s proud of her curves, has the most fabulous hair color we’ve ever seen, and simultaneously scares the hell out of us and earns our empathy as Mad Men’s Joan (all while wearing clothes so chic we wish we could transport ourselves straight back to the ’60s). As it turns out, Hendricks is as uniquely stylish off-screen as she is on, which made us think, ‘Hey, I want to shop where she’s shopping!’ She coolly cooperated and made it easy for us (and you) to crib her style. See below for her picks.

1.“Blackbird Design House is my best friend’s site. I love her jewelry. She makes this little gold wishbone necklace that I wear almost every day, and I’ve given them to a bunch of my girlfriends because they’re just really simple and elegant. They’re very personal—she’ll do custom work for people too, like special charms, so people seek her out to design pieces that no one else will have.”

2. “I like Mary's Granddaughter for its unusual embroidered art. I don’t know how I found it—I was just perusing. I bought one piece for a friend of mine, and then bought another as a film-wrap gift for an actress that I had just worked with. It’s just kind of quirky and cool—it’s one of those things where it’s like, ‘Well, I know you don’t have this yet.’ It’s sort of whimsical, and has this old Americana folk art feel, but then it’s got this quirky carnival twist, too. And look at those little shadow boxes! They’re so weird and wonderful. I’m intrigued by the one in the old camera box.”
