Watch out San Francisco, there's a new hostess in town. Model Maggie Rizer moved to our foggy city last Fall and she's already making the fashion rounds. We caught up with her at Derek Blasberg's book party recently and talked about her wedding to real estate developer Alex Mehran. We got the juicy details about the dress, designer, and accessories. Her nuptials are taking place September 18 in Lake Placid, we can't wait to see pics, but in the meantime . . .

The wedding dress — was it easy to find or was it a struggle?

I had everything else planned first, and finally the wedding dress was the last thing. I was kind of freaking out because in my mind I’ve worn all the most amazing dresses in the world and I didn’t think I was going to find something that lived up to those, something I was going to be excited about. That was my problem, I wanted to be really excited and I couldn’t get excited about any of them because I was like “Yeah, it’s a dress.”

Who’s the designer?

Oscar de la Renta. I’m really excited about it, so it worked out.

What does it look like?

It’s classic, strapless, very fitted here [points to the waist], and then goes out and goes long. I have a cathedral veil, it’s cool.

Christie's is partnering with fashion industry leaders for an inaugural green auction, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day this April 22. PPR chairman François-Henri Pinault, Anna Zegna, Vivienne Westwood, Lauren Bush, Maggie Rizer, and Julie Gilhart make up the event's honorary committee and have been calling on the fashion industry to support "A Bid to Save the Earth."

The auction block will include a private lunch with Vera Wang; Giorgio Armani evening dresses and two tickets to Vanity Fair’s Oscar party; his and her bespoke suits from Stella McCartney, and private fitting with the designer; Girard-Perregaux watches; Valextra luggage; Harry Winston jewelry; and David LaChapelle photography (above). Oceana, Conservation International, the Central Park Conservancy, and the National Resources Defense Council will benefit.

As for Sophie Dahl, she and fiance, British jazz singer Jamie Cullum, married Saturday in England at a country mansion. The bride wore a bespoke Temperley London dress. >> Before heading back to the States from Venice, a number of Chanel Cruise attendees — and show strutters like Toni Garrn and Siri Tollerod — made a stop over in Vienna for the annual Life Ball AIDS charity spectacular Saturday evening.  The town hall was surrounded by 2.5 million liters of water trucked in for this year's marine theme, and the guest list topped 40,000.

Amber Valletta opened the motorcade in a blue crystal-covered chariot, Anja Rubik was in attendance wearing her favorite label as of late, Balmain, and Sessilee Lopez sported a blonde wig for one of her turns during the catwalk festivities.  Heather Marks, Iris Strubegger, Emina Cunmulaj, Eliza Cummings, Kinga Rajzak, Sara Blomqvist all also participated, plus first-timer Stephanie Carta, who described the experience as "a fantasy world of glitter and botox and some kind of neverending celebration."

Models are always welcomed at Met's Costume Institute Gala, but since last night's exhibit was all about them, they felt way more at home. Current models like Hana Soukupova, Coco Rocha, and Isabeli Fontana mixed and mingled with classics like Stella Tennant, Alek Wek, and Maggie Rizer, as well as old-school Supers Amber Valletta, Kristen McMenamy, and Nadja Auermann (left). It was a site to be seen; one that melted my heart. Every one of them ruled, and one young blond model even came on the arm of a Hollywood actor! Let the model mania begin . . .

>> Tears, catfights, and body image issues: Stylista is shaping up to be everything a Tyra Banks-produced show should be.  Another extended clip has dropped of the Elle-backed reality show; Put that together with the first three clips, and the classiest thing they have going between them is the comment, "You suddenly have your own Jackson Pollock" — and that's in reference to dog excrement.  I'll let you see the rest of the mess for yourself.
