A Fabby Halloween: McQueen Muse

Enter into the world of Alexander McQueen where dark fantasies meld with high fashion.

Enter into the world of Alexander McQueen where dark fantasies meld with high fashion. Skeletons, skulls, houndstooth, spiderwebs, and paranormal activity are all aspects of being a McQueen muse. Don't be mistaken for a clown when donning such out-of-this-world wear. Let your inner fashion aura shine via sharp silhouettes, bold color, and black lipstick.

Just can't get enough?Join my A Fabby Halloween group where we can share ideas, photos, and revel in Halloween happiness.

In The Showroom Roundup: Spring 2009

We're off to a press preview at Pas de Deux--the women's boutique recently opened by Paul Birardi and Eddy Chai of men's fashion destinations Odin and Den.

We're off to a press preview at Pas de Deux--the women's boutique recently opened by Paul Birardi and Eddy Chai of men's fashion destinations Odin and Den. Tomorrow we'll bring you as many photo galleries as one preview can conjure but, while you wait, check out our previous Spring 2009 preview coverage entitled, "In The Showroom".

We see two marked advantages to this coverage and every collection has either one or the other going for it. For designers like Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier, and Aurelio Costarella there comes a chance to see photos of clothing hot off the runway and hear our take on how the collection measures up in person. On the other hand, if the designer didn't show this season, our coverage let's you see Spring 09 from a point of view not yet smattered all over the internet. Our favorites in this category have been Bess, Mary Meyer, and Rodebjer.

Whichever category a collection falls into, we think it's a pretty neat opportunity.

Now you, off to the showroom

In The Showroom: Mary Meyer Spring 2009

We've just hurriedly returned from the OAK showroom to bring you their Spring 09 offerings, and boy was it worth the trip--their lovely sales rep, Thomas, showed us around the brands, and Mary Meyer was the first on our list to capture.

We've just hurriedly returned from the OAK showroom to bring you their Spring 09 offerings, and boy was it worth the trip--their lovely sales rep, Thomas, showed us around the brands, and Mary Meyer was the first on our list to capture. We first learned about Meyer in our G Shock Watch! photo shoot when we pulled one of her tie dye dresses for the occasion. This Spring 09 Meyer was inspired by indigenous drawings and insignia and so we saw eye-catching skeletal-like lines on various cropped t-shirts and low-slung tanks. Otherwise, there were plenty of non-printed cotton garments like drop-crotch trousers and jumpsuits. Meyer's aesthetic is easy and cool and we're happy to hear that the designer has just relocated to New York--we think she has a bright future ahead of her indeed.
