It was a chic who's-who battle last night, with Elle's annual Women in Hollywood celebration holding court in LA and the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Gala taking place in NYC. Where the latter is concerned, we were treated to a gorgeous mix of red-carpet looks courtesy of Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooklyn Decker, Karolina Kurkova, Olivia Munn, Chanel Iman, and more. The common denominator on the style front? Everyone donned their Michael Kors best. The iconic designer was honored, along with Glee creator Ryan Murphy, at the charitable event, providing a solid reason to dress the part. We love Karolina's perfect juxtaposition of feminine chantilly lace against a wintry long double-breasted wool vest. Gwyneth didn't disappoint with her body-con cutout LBD and white pumps. And Brooklyn's brocade meets origami-cut shorts set makes us want to jump on the texture train 10 times over. Michael Kors aims to please, and with Spring 2013, we're positive you'll be a happy camper. We think front-row starlets Camilla Belle, Katharine McPhee, and Marisa Tomei would agree, too. Kors took a sporty-meets-classic approach, and with it, a bevy of mod prints attached to versatile silhouettes came marching out. It's all about bold primary colors, a healthy dose of stripes, clean lines, and more wearable (read: covetable) pieces than you'll know what to do with. Be sure to stick around for the final set of runway looks, as gorgeous black gowns (some with even sexier bodice cutouts) make a welcome appearance. It's definitely worth the watch.

It was all about the angles at the Michael Kors Spring 2013 runway show, as the designer presented a collection full of streamlined, sporty silhouettes done in a bold primary palette of yellow, kelly green, bright blue, and red. Show notes began with a reference to "geometric glamour" and ended with "architectural polish" — the first part seemed to draw upon '60s mod shapes, while the latter was an ode to '90s minimalism. The final trio of sexy black gowns would look fabulous on front row celebs like Camilla Belle and Katherine McPhee.

All right, it's official: stripes are back. Not that they ever really left, but this week we've seen more of them on the New York runways than we can count.

For Spring 2013, Michael Kors offered them up in spades. In high-contrast lines of black, red, green, and blue, they covered everything from zip-side one-pieces to skin-hugging bodysuits. The show notes mentioned the idea of "geometric glamour," and so, in addition to all those stripes, Kors offered up boxy separates in mod '60s shapes decorated with optical checks or saturated in primary hues. The glamour came later when Karlie Kloss closed the show wearing a slinky gown pierced with triangular cutouts.
