Jennifer Hudson joined Project Runway host Heidi Klum and judge Nina Garcia at today's season finale presentation in NYC. Jennifer is the latest star to make a cameo following in the footsteps of last year's guest host, Jessica Simpson. It's been a busy kickoff to Fashion Week for Heidi, Nina, Jennifer, and fellow judge Michael Kors. Last night, Michael hosted celebrities like Nikki Reed, Kate Upton, and Debra Messing at his Manhattan boutique as part of Fashion's Night Out festivities. Jennifer partied with Nicole Richie at a QVC bash. Heidi, meanwhile, stopped by former Project Runway winner Christian Siriano's new boutique to do some shopping and wish him well.

Michael Kors's daily uniform makes him a bit of an authority on Autumn dressing.

In dark-colored turtlenecks, tweed pants and blazers, the man suits up for Starbucks' pumpkin spice latte season even when it's mid-July. And while his labels (Michael Kors, Michael Michael Kors, KORS) teem with year-round classic pieces, they each slant fall-wards thanks to a preference for knitwear and leather and palettes heavy on cream and camel. (If, say, Erdem is the emblem of spring—florals everywhere!—surely Michael Kors is the bastion of Autumn).

For that reason—and because he's a really good designer—we asked Kors to share a few tips to help us get dressed this fall. Full of swagger that'll shake up your standard fall wardrobe, Kors' recommendations channel Angelina boarding an international flight. Elevate Your Basic Jackets
When it comes to staples, Michael says, "if it's totally, totally familiar it's a big bore." So instead of plain navy or black, he suggests buying an embellished or mixed-media blazer like this one. It has all the versatility of the classics—but none of the blandness.

Karlie Kloss, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and a host of stylish celebrities stepped in front of the camera to create the PSA for Fashion's Night Out 2012. The black and white ad also features Solange Knowles, Arizona Muse, Carolina Herrera, Peter Dundas, Jessica Paré, Francisco Costa, and Justin Bieber, among others, all of whom promise the event will be "bigger, crazier, and sexier than ever." The camera jump-cuts from one famous face to the next, and in the background Darren Criss is heard delivering a cover of Madonna's "Dress You Up."

Fashion's Night Out 2012 will take place on Sept. 6 ("Not the 5th," as Pamela Love notes in the commercial) in cities all over the world. A look at what else the evening has in store in the video below.
