Denim is a closet staple, and like anything in perpetual rotation, sometimes it could use a little revamp. Here's one we're loving: drawstring denim. This take on your classic blues is casual and still sophisticated, a remodeled fit with a nod to our comfier clothes. But remember, these aren't sweatpants — they're meant to be dressed up; add a femme top, like Fab reader NikitaAshley, to counter the slouchier silhouette and go for heels to play up the fashion angle.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: pants are underutilized in this world. Hilary Duff wore the perfect flirty, yet polished getup to a Shipley & Halmos event at Confederacy in LA. Her Patterson J. Kincaid butterfly tank is whimsical, while her wide-leg pants are classic. Nature-inspired jewelry, a knockout black Hermes Birkin, and cool yellow nail polish complete the lusty love child.

CherryLady is clearly feeling verdant. Her nature-inspired ensemble is as fresh as the trees. My eye instantly gravitates toward that colorblock dress; the combination of green, black, and blue is heavenly. Her chosen accessories — the beaded necklace, yellow earrings, blue bag — all help the outfit come to life.

It seems sunshine follows Cali girl Lauren Conrad wherever she goes. Case in point: in NYC, in her happy swing coat. Yellow, an unexpected yet friendly color, always brightens drab Winter days. I have a happy red Miu Miu coat I rarely wear, not because I don't love it, but simply because it rarely gets cold enough in San Francisco for it. Nonetheless, it makes a statement and is utterly ladylike. Just like LC. P.S. Nice stems.

Stella McCartney has been nonstop with the amazing ensembles. The other day, she donned an artsy jacket alongside Kate Moss, and today, she's all about pyramid pleasures. I love how the designer smartly contrasted her all-black 'fit with a high-voltage pyramid embellished clutch. The dimensional baubles add the right amount of texture to her slick accompaniments — amaze. If her decor is too daring for your taste, try out these spiky studs in smaller form.

Mkoesnadi is jumping for jodhpurs! Inspired by Balenciaga's epic Fall '07 collection, she pieced together a smashing, ethnic-inspired ensemble. Her jodhpurs aren't overly baggy and I like how the hot pink socks add a vibrant touch. A print scarf, vibrant bangles, and red bag complete her exotic 'fit.

Who can forget Jennifer Beals's sexy moves in '80s cult classic Flashdance — remember that water scene? Sizzle. She alone might have been responsible for the flurry of females dashing to get themselves an oversize sweatshirt and leggings — I know I sure did. Hone in her ultra-old-school vibe with the right accessories: red pointy-toe heels, a bodysuit, leg warmers, dangly earrings, and a permed '80s hairdo. What a feeling!

I love layering, but it gets a little tedious rummaging through my drawers for the "right" tank or tees. That why this new style, layered halters, is so clever.
