These noir getups, especially Missy's, are stunning, but I also love the cozy knits. >> Over the course of five years, Sara Ziff snuck her ex-boyfriend Ole Schell into fashion shows, shoots, and parties so that he could film "without other people realizing it." Sometimes he got thrown out, but they were able to collection hundreds of hours of footage along the way, which they edited down to produce Ziff's documentary, Picture Me, which exposes the dirty underbelly of modeling.
In it, the stories are hardly pretty. Ziff told the Guardian about a 16-year-old model who complained to her agency when a 45-year-old photographer made a pass at her: "Her agency said she should have slept with him." She captures another model talking about how weight is approached: "In castings, people have slapped my thigh, and I'm not in any sense overweight, I never have been. I've been the same weight for a long time, but they'll slap your butt and be like 'Oooh, fat' in Italian or in French. 'It's too big here.'"

We can always count on Tommy Hilfiger for a patriotic ad campaign. For Spring '09, the designer branched out from the usual iconic American landscapes and showed us his love for urban city life. “This campaign is slightly more upbeat than seasons past and shows a renewed optimism and attitude about the brand,” said the brand's VP of global marketing, Avery Baker.
Shot at various locales in LA such as Malibu and Sunset Strip, models Shannan Click and Missy Rayder look fresh and carefree wearing Hilfiger's palette of red, white, and blue. The occasional pops of yellow are a warm addition and I'm loving Tommy's crisp cuts. The models' cherry red lips and Hollywood shades are also a nice touch. Americana looks easy and fun through Tommy's eyes. What do you see?
Check out Alexander Wang's seamless transition from the runway to real life. For his Spring '09 look book, Wang chose model Missy Rayder to show off his sizzling collection of clothing and handbags. Missy's the perfect match for our 2008 designer of the year. Her tomboy aesthetic goes perfectly with Wang's hard-edged offerings.
No one captures the holiday spirit quite like the Gap. It always manages to gather 'round the most adorable celebrities and models for its colorful holiday collection. This time around, sisters and models Frankie and Missy Rayder, (left), Mary-Louise Parker, Milla Jovovich, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Bateman, Rainn Wilson, and more are all part of the fun. Milla and Jason even brought their kids along for the ride. Aw! Argyle sweaters, cardigan dresses, stripe scarves, cozy hoodies — they all look so good wrapped around the stars, especially Twilight hottie Cam Gigandet. Do you dig the latest Gap ads?
