Rihanna's second River Island collection is slated to debut May 25, but that certainly doesn't mean you'll be in the dark about what's to come. The brand released a behind-the-scenes video today, which not only supplied us with our first look at the singer's latest Summer capsule, but also gave us a little more insight into what goes into a Rihanna collaboration. She chatted candidly with codesigner Adam Selman (fun fact: this isn't the first time she's worked with him — the proof here), revealed her favorite piece and where she plans on wearing it, and expounded on "gangsta" florals. The British self-tanning brand has been well-known for tanning models before the catwalk and giving celebrities their red carpet glow. Kate has been using the products from the start, so this partnership is an easy fit. "Kate epitomizes St.Tropez's naturally glamorous approach to self-tanning and is a longtime advocate of the brand," Michelle Feeney, CEO of PZ Cussons Beauty, said. "Not only is she beautiful, but she has this amazing attitude. St.Tropez is about confidence." Kate already has a slew of beauty deals, ranging from cosmetics with Rimmel London to her more recent hair contract with Kérastase. Her résumé as a spokeswoman also includes iconic fashion houses like Saint Laurent and Dior, plus her own fragrance. You can't beat that beauty pedigree. Imagine what the patrons of a glamorous '40s-era Parisian jazz club would wear, and you're not far off from the Fall 2013 collection from DSquared2. Designers Dean and Dan Caten sent out a series of looks that ran the gamut from masculine (Cara Delevingne walked the runway in a double-breasted suit with full-cut trousers) to ultrafeminine, like the silk gown trimmed in ostrich feathers that opened the show.

If that doesn't sound luxurious enough, there was plenty more.

We imagine La Perla's Fall 2013 collection to be the lingerie that classic Hollywood bombshells sported in their dressing rooms back in the '30s and '40s. With a seductive Spanish narrative setting the tone, the resulting collection is a seriously sexy lineup of silk-satin nightgowns, bodysuits, and satin pajama sets finished in embroidery and black lace — and perfectly timed to inspire your own Valentine's Day (boudoir) ensemble. Just note, if you're looking to channel the same jaw-dropping effect, you can't ignore the patent gladiator Brian Atwood heels that accompanied each look from La Perla's Black Label. The relaunch of that collection is a more dramatic range of underthings — some pieces we'd even dare to wear outside the bedroom, like a marabou feather shrug (though it looks decidedly glamorous thrown over a silk-satin romper). As always, it's a lineup that doesn't short on luxury with La Perla's brand of sex appeal that's all at once subversive and sophisticated. It's rare to come across a red carpet these days that doesn't play host to (at least) one stunning Elie Saab gown. The Lebanese designer has, in effect, become a go-to source for glamorous premiere dresses and award-show fare, and we have a hunch it has everything to do with his penchant for dense embroidery, princess-gown silhouettes, and decadent embellishing. Saab's Couture Spring '13 collection debuted in Paris today, and with it came 48 ethereal confections practically begging to be worn to some fancy gala. We can easily imagine Keira Knightley slipping into one of the icy-hued, crystalline-embroidered tulle gowns, or perhaps Gwyneth Paltrow taking on one of the crisp white body-skimming gowns as an homage to last year's standout Tom Ford number at the Oscars. We also spotted a funkier printed sheath in a '50s-inspired shape that has Kerry Washington written all over it. Luckily, we're smack dab in the middle of award season, and with the SAG Awards this Sunday, we're hoping to see any one of these 11 gowns sooner rather than later.
