Peep Lady Gaga's Purr-fect Catwalk Debut at Mugler's Fall 2011 Show

When Lady Gaga is involved, you can bet this is NSFW.
Lady Gaga Walks Mugler Fall 2011 Show at Paris Fashion Week

When Lady Gaga is involved, you can bet this is NSFW. While it was big news that Nicola Formichetti, Lady Gaga's original stylist, would be presenting his first womenswear collection for resurgent Paris design house Thierry Mugler, it might have been bigger news that Vogue March cover girl Lady Gaga would be walking in the show, which was live-streamed yesterday on Facebook. Nicola presented his bevy of models as various versions of Catwoman, wearing dangerously high shoes that caused a few almost-spills. And we're not talking pussycats. More like dangerous, claw-your-eyes-out cats, led by big cat Lady Gaga. She had no problem with the treacherous shoes and later, at the afterparty, wore one of the runway looks with an equally treacherous-looking pair of black boots. Click our slideshow to see all the shots of Lady Gaga, plus the provocative Fall collection.

Sneak Peek! Inside Carine Roitfeld's Final French Vogue Issue

It doesn't hit newsstands until Feb.
Sneak Peek Inside Carine Roitfeld's Final Issue For French Vogue 2011-02-23 09:20:00

It doesn't hit newsstands until Feb. 25, but highlights from Carine Roitfeld's final issue as editor in chief of French Vogue have been released online. Her replacement, the lovely Emmanuelle Alt, has been making her first real public debut at Fashion Week in New York and London, and we're just as excited for her first issue. The March issue's theme is fantasy, and Carine referenced surrealist artist Salvador Dali in stories featuring supermodels like Karolina Kurkova, Daria Werbowy, and Lara Stone. Click on the slideshow to get your sneak peek inside the much-anticipated issue. Be forewarned: there is a touch of nudity so this is NSFW.

Candice Swanepoel Scores Vogue Italia February 2011 Cover, Seems Next Victoria's Secret Model Poised for High Fashion Crossover

>> Candice Swanepoel has been Victoria's Secret's go-to girl in the last few months — she was on the brand's holiday and swim catalog covers, and figured prominently into last year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show as well. After Mario Testino shot her for VMAN's Winter 2010 issue (declaring, “Candice is an amazing new find for me. Gorgeous, free, fun. I decided to do the whole trip on her visiting Denmark. She was awesome and did not feel inhibited. She made the shoot an amazing experience. The guys were in awe of her.”), many guessed that she was well on her way to being the next Victoria's Secret Angel to cross over into high fashion.

And it seems like that's the plan. She's on GQ UK's February 2011 cover with a smattering of fellow Victoria's Secret models, but she also just popped up on the February 2011 Vogue Italia cover — quite the coup — shot by Steven Meisel and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele. Will we see her on a choice (non-Victoria's Secret) runway next?

How Long Must Women Wait For Their NSFW Photos to Be Adorable?

Have you had your nude pictures taken yet?

Have you had your nude pictures taken yet? I for one am creating a short list of photographers whose results I'll put in a time capsule marked "Do not open until Christmas 2060." The pin-up photos of Betty White that surfaced have been called "adorable," and I don't really disagree! Maybe it's because they're from a more innocent time, when nude photos were less raunchy, or maybe Betty White just has that effect on people. I'd say it's a bit of both, but it also has to do with age.

Once a woman reaches a certain age, and I'm thinking 80, it becomes completely adorable that she was once hot. Have you ever seen a picture of your grandmother in her prime (maybe wearing more clothes?) and found it amazing that the loving woman you know as "Grandma" or "Nana" was once sexy? I suppose it's just the juxtaposition between sweet, old woman and young, sexpot that induces those "awww"s. But now I can't tell — is it adorable or just another insult to older women?

Amanda Palmer Just Says No to Shaving

Rocker Amanda Palmer has a PSA: shaving off your pubic hair to conform is "so wack."

Rocker Amanda Palmer has a PSA: shaving off your pubic hair to conform is "so wack." Her new video for "Map of Tasmania" is a fierce (and sparkly) rebuttal to those who say hair-free is the only way to be. It makes a good point: women are often faced with derision if they don't shave, and that's totally wrongheaded.

On the other hand, Amanda comes off as very aggressively anti-shorn in this song, saying that women without pubic hair "look like an eight-year-old," adding "it's sad." As someone who genuinely likes smooth skin, I was a little bummed at the put-downs. It's undermining and seems out of character, especially since just last year, Amanda told The New York Times: "You know what’s really cool? Wake up every morning, decide what you feel like doing, and do it." Well, I woke up and decided, and I'm pretty happy with it; I just wish Amanda was, too. What do you think about the "necessity" to shave? And if you want to see Amanda's (extremely, really NSFW but fun) video, just keep reading.
