Chloe Sevigny shows off her archive of Opening Ceremony goodies — and her penchant for grunge — in this newly released video shot by William Strobeck. A soundtrack by Colony Farm sets an eerie mood, while inset split-screens, TV static, and saturated hues further the voyeuristic '90s vibe. As an added bonus, all the pieces are available online at Opening Ceremony's London Pop Up. Smells like teen spirit indeed.

Inside the First Issue of Opening Ceremony's OC Annual

As the industry comes down from its Olympic fashion high, the sports-themed first issue of Opening Ceremony's OC Annual should help ease any withdrawal.
Opening Ceremony's OC Annual Magazine First Issue Pictures

As the industry comes down from its Olympic fashion high, the sports-themed first issue of Opening Ceremony's OC Annual should help ease any withdrawal. The limited-edition glossy, which went on sale this week, features contributions from photographers Bruce Weber and Victoria Hely Hutchinson, as well as artist Terence Koh and writer Andrew Kuo. Legendary model Pat Cleveland stars in one of the issue's editorials, and Gaia Repossi stars in a photo story about doing yoga.

"This is a new kind of opening ceremony: a place where fashion doesn’t have to be 'major,' or sexy, or instantly buyable and clickable, but where discovery and curiosity are tantamount," says a description on the magazine's website. That sentiment is certainly felt in the issue's 288 pages. A look inside them, here in the gallery.

Opening Ceremony to Start Fashion and Culture Magazine

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are reportedly launching a magazine this Summer.

Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are reportedly launching a magazine this Summer.

The new glossy, called OC Annual, is billed as a "collectible fashion and culture magazine" and will be published once a year. Each issue will focus on a theme; the debut issue, due out in August, will center on the Olympic Games in London, where Opening Ceremony plans to open a store later this year. So far, they've recruited Bruce Weber, Walter Pfeiffer, Todd Cole, and Tim Barber to take pictures for the magazine.

Neither Leon nor Lim has spoken publicly about the magazine, but in an internal memo obtained by WWD, Lim wrote that the goal is to create a magazine that has a broad appeal.

"As magazine fanatics, O.C. founder Humberto Leon and myself are aiming to create a collectible publication for a new generation, something beautiful and special in the vein of Benetton's Colors, Comme des Garçons' Six and Joe McKenna's Joe," Lim wrote. "We want to make a magazine that will appeal to kids in Nebraska as much as industry people."

In addition to running Opening Ceremony outposts in New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, Leon and Lim also design the Opening Ceremony label, as well as the Paris-based line Kenzo. The duo is also working on a book celebrating Opening Ceremony's 10th anniversary. The book will be published by Rizzoli in September.

Hollywood's Secret to Sexy Curves: Black Cutaway Dresses

What do celebs do when they want to give off the appearance that they have sexy curves?

What do celebs do when they want to give off the appearance that they have sexy curves? Why, slip on a black cutaway dress! Eva Longoria recently did it in her Victoria Beckham stretch-crepe cutaway dress, Lucy Hale got in on the look via an Opening Ceremony racerback dress, Taylor Schilling dabbled in her Calvin Klein gown, and Jennifer Carpenter also tried the style via a black cutaway dress. As you can see, cutaway necklines, where more of the shoulder and decolletage are exposed, create a wave-like shape across the shoulders, giving the appearance of curves. The rest of the dress is streamlined, making the top half stand out. Plus, black helps keep the look super polished, allowing for the cutaway, not the color, to be the star. Want to get in on Hollywood's secret? Shop the widget, including Eva and Lucy's exact dresses, below!

Francisco Costa Models, Natalia Vodianova Defends Her "Skinny" Comments, and Opening Ceremony Pops Up in London

  • Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa landed his first modeling assignment with the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Costa will star in a campaign advertising the organization's new "São Paolo for the Cure!" t-shirts, set to debut tomorrow in his native Brazil. • Natalia Vodianova took flak for saying "It's better to be skinny than to be fat" at this past weekend's Vogue festival, and today she responded to the criticism on her Facebook page, explaining that her original comment was designed to make people laugh. "If I was giving a speech I would have chosen my words more carefully of course," she wrote. [The Cut]

  • Opening Ceremony will open its first London store — a pop-up shop — to celebrate the start of the 2012 Olympic games this July. When the games are over, the store will move to a permanent spot on King Street in the Covent Garden neighborhood. "Bringing Opening Ceremony to Covent Garden is an important next step in the growth of our company," said founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim. [Catwalk Queen]

  • The Food and Drug Administration will start monitoring what goes into beauty products sold in the United States by creating a mandatory ingredient registry next year. Current law allows beauty companies to report their ingredients voluntarily, and there are only 10 ingredients that are banned from domestic products. In the European Union, tighter beauty industry regulations have banned some 1,200 ingredients. [Refinery29]

  • Richemont, owner of luxury jewelers and watchmakers like Cartier and IWC, won a momentous infringement case against a company that registered the trademark for Vacheron Constantin — Richemont's oldest watch brand — in Russia and sold clothes under that label. The outcome of the case means that a well-known trademark in one country can't be taken and reregistered in another country, because it can confuse consumers and harm the original trademark holder's reputation. "This is a landmark case with worldwide implications," said Richemont chief counsel Frederick Mostert. [Material World]

Opening Ceremony Fall 2012

>> Not even the far-off prospect of chilly weather can stifle Opening Ceremony's sense of whimsy. For their Fall 2012 collection, Humberto Leon and Carol Kim served up even more of the quirky, feminine pieces that have become their calling card. The use of metallics is back, with copper paillettes echoing the sparkle of the super-shiny silver pieces the brand used in its Spring 2012 collection. They're paired with lots of textures, like knitwear pieces that range from nubbly to open weave, fur, leather, and tweed. But perhaps most interesting of all is a quilted Winter coat, which is sure to keep whoever wears it warm by the time Fall's first cold fronts come around.
