I'm smitten with gogosushi's cozy outfit. For maximum warmth, the cable knit cutie layered her tweed shorts and chic DIY Cavour print tee with tights and a nubby sweater. Notice how she's on to the over the knee boots trend. I love it all, however, the prize goes to her buttery soft vintage Yves Saint Laurent satchel bag — swoon.

I'm sorry, but Becki is a fox. I sure wouldn't mind seeing her around more often. Especially if she's taking the plunge and wearing Fall's hottest boot: the over the knee. And she wears them exactly right. Stretchy black leggings, a sharp blazer by The Row, and a taupe tank, are subtle and sharp. A red bag reminds she's bold, not blah. Mixed-metal chain bracelets add the perfect amount of sparkle. Foxy lady.

My new favorite kind of boot is the over-the-knee. I look forward to chilly weather so that I can bust them out and spice my legs up with them. But here's the thing: the right pair can make you look chic, the wrong, not so. You'll know when looking at it which category it falls in. I already own a black leather flat one, but would love to add a luxurious suede heeled style to my collection. During my hunt, I came across dozens of unique boots that I would make mine, wallet permitting. And these Stella McCartney Thigh-High Faux Leather Boots ($1,385), which the designer herself owns, are the over-the-knee Holy Grail. More than boots, they're like buying a pair of hot leather legs!
Hot mommy Angie Harmon is usually so pretty on the red carpet, so to see her so severe is, well, different. At the 2009 Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards last night, the actress wore a loose-fitting maroon dress, but what comes next is questionable. She completed her look with Rodarte's thigh-high gray boots from Fall '09. The boots are super futuristic, but I'm not sold on them with that dress. What do you think?

There's good news and bad news. The good news: There's no boot dress code this Fall. It's pretty much anything goes in terms of heel height, over-the-knee, bootie — you name it, it's totally wearable. The bad news: this could lead to some manic dressing — crazily changing footwear at least 10 times before getting out the door.
The ever-practical Michael Kors has a solution. These Kors by Michael Kors Multi Zip Boots ($891) playfully combine function and fashion. Essentially, four boots in one. You're still paying a lot per pair, but let's not forget the price of cool — the ability to unzip (four times) to a whole new look just might make these worth the price tag.

I've never been a huge fan of over-the-knee boots, but seeing Jenna Dewan in her maroon pair convinced me otherwise. See, I used to think thigh-highs were cheesy — cue Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman — but the key to getting this look right is styling it with not so '80s clothes. I suggest girlie floral frocks, like Jenna's, for an upscale Woodstock vibe, or paired with a lean wool mini, tights, and trench for a ultra-modern Fall look.
Newlywed Jenna Dewan left her hot hubby behind for the night and partied away for Nylon's TV issue launch. While other guests did sexy, Jenna opted for sweet in a moody floral dress. Over-the-knee boots were all over the Fall 2009 catwalks, in styles that ranged from stocking-like to trouser-like in their appearance. Thanks to the height, clothing was a lot less substantial and it was hard not to make the connection between the brevity of fabric and the recession. Not that things would be that simple, of course--these boots will undoubtedly cost quite a bit when they hit the retail floor (merchandisers put on your thinking caps).
