It's been said an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and some of the industry's biggest names seem to take that old adage to heart. More than one attendee of last night's opening dinner for the WWD CEO Summit told us that staying active is the best way to stave off sickness.

"I exercise a lot because I like to do Iron Man triathlons," Elettra Wiedemann said, "so I feel like my immune system is generally kind of boosted by all the exercise."

When we asked Theory CEO Andrew Rosen how he stays healthy, he said simply, "I go to the gym every day."

Nine West is continuing its Shoelaborations initiative by teaming up with native New York designer Pamela Love (you may have seen her insanely cool jewelry wares before?). "I really felt the idea of the traveler riding on their motorcycle through the Southwest summed up my brand and my personality more than anything else. I wanted to design a boot that could have been from another time, and I wanted it to feel tough," she says of her inspiration. And it shows. Between the rustic metalwork, Southwestern influence, and distressed leather, it's not hard to pinpoint where Love's head was at. We love that this low-cut rendition is just a little bit cowgirl, a little bit downtown, and, just like Love hinted, a little bit rough around the edges. Designers Spill: Their Very First Times at Fashion Week

"At the time, I thought I was in the chicest place in the universe," said Peter Som of his first time at New York Fashion Week as a Parsons student. In honor of that impending chicness, we spoke with him and others - veterans and newcomers alike - to hear the experiences of their first shows, their most memorable moments, and how they plan to recover after the madness of the week is over.

Pamela Love remembers being nervous the first time Anna Wintour attended one of her shows (who wouldn't be?), and Chris Benz told us about his very own House of Style moment at Marc Jacobs's Spring 2002 show. We also heard tales from Rebecca Minkoff, Rachel Comey, Yigal Azrouel, Jenni Kayne, and many others. Love All: Designers Customize Tennis Balls For Vogue

In honor of the US Open Tennis Championships, which started in New York on Monday, Vogue asked designers including Pamela Love, Peter Som, and Eddie Borgo to design tennis balls with elements of their signature motifs. The one-of-a-kind balls are decorated with everything from cloth flowers to rhinestones, lace, leather, and aggressive metal studs. Love shot an arrow through her design ("I have four arrow tattoos, so I thought, why not?" she says), while Som's sparkly entry takes inspiration from a diamond tennis bracelet. Dana Lorenz's Fenton ball, with brass chains and pearls, takes inspiration from Christian Lacroix and the glamorous supermodels of the '90s. Mara Hoffman, Pamela Love, and More Team With Bona Drag For Bridal Collection

For those who cringe at the very mention of traditional wedding garb, now there's this. Online boutique Bona Drag has partnered with indie favorites Mara Hoffman, Pamela Love, Lindsey Thornburg, Samantha Pleet, Anna Sheffield, Meredith Kahn, and more on what can only be described as the least fussy bridal collection around. Even the name, "Ceremonial Collection," underscores the capsule's unconventional nature.

"I've learned that when buying, a lot of customers take things very literally," Bona Drag founder Heather Wojner explained. "If it doesn't say 'bridal' then they assume it can't be just that. I wanted to help show our customers where they can bend the rules, and that they don't have to be a cookie-cutter bride."

To that end, the collection is filled with exclusive pieces that are pretty, yes, but also tinged with edge. A ring set from Unearthen, for example, comes adorned with raw quartz, while Anna Sheffield's solitaires are punctuated with pitch-black diamonds and onyx. Gowns, too, come in unexpected shapes and hues: there's a dress in gothic black lace from Lover, and Mara Hoffman (who recently designed pal Pamela Love's wedding dress) offers an intricately-beaded chiffon dress with a neckline so daringly low it would probably be considered quite le scandale in any regular church.

"It's only natural for my brand to collaborate with Bona Drag on exclusive ceremony gowns," Lindsey Thornburg - who created two reversible gowns for the collection - explained. "Bona Drag understands what our clientele wants to drape themselves in for all of life's cherished moments."

Carine Roitfeld's New Muse, Pamela Love's Wedding Pics, and Rachel Zoe's Latest Line

Pamela Love married her illustrator fiancé, Matthew Nelson, in Montauk in May, and called on some of her fashionable friends for help: Mara Hoffman made her dress, and Billy Reid made Nelson's tuxedo. Love designed the white gold with turquoise wedding bands. [Vogue]

Speaking of weddings, Jade Jagger's star-studded weekend nuptials drew a well-known - and well-heeled - crowd. Kate Moss was there; she wore Alexander McQueen to the ceremony. [Styleite]

Abbey Lee Kershaw explains in the August issue of Vogue Australia that when she was younger, her style varied from goth to hippie to minimalist. "I went through all of it, and nothing ever really felt right until I stopped thinking about it," she says. "Now, I buy something because I like it." [Vogue Australia]

Rachel Zoe will lend her name to a line of intimate apparel produced by Jockey that will be in stores like Macy's this October. "Style starts from within, and having the right foundation is critical to the ultimate success of your outfit," Zoe says. [Fashion Etc.]

Versace is expected to release a men's fragrance called Eros this Fall. One source says Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott have already shot a "wet and wild" ad for the scent. [WWD]

Coty, the company that makes perfumes and cosmetics for Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Chloé, and Davidoff, among others, filed for an initial public offering that could raise some $700 million for its current shareholders. [The Wall Street Journal]

Distressed boyfriend jeans and a faded denim jacket may not automatically spring to mind when one thinks of jewelry designer Pamela Love, but that's exactly what's on offer as part of the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up's highly-anticipated capsule for J.Crew.

"The collection was inspired by what my friends and I wear almost on a daily basis," Love explains. Sure enough, the three-piece limited-edition selection - which also includes a belt, another first for Love - captures exactly the kind of downtown irreverence that has made Love's tribal-influenced jewelry, and Love herself, such a favorite. "I'm a big fan of mixing bold statement pieces with more subdued vintage classics, and I think that blend is pretty well reflected in the collection," Love says of her aesthetic. "I definitely pull a lot of inspiration from the American Southwest and Mexico and South America - I try to travel as much as I can."
